chapter five — forgive and forget

We pulled into the spot which was ironically next to Bells and Cam who was the boy she was on the date with. I could visually see how uncomfortable the two teens looked as the boys mocked them whilst I slouched in the back not wanting to be seen.

Cam had stepped out of the car, I assumed he had gone to get a drink. That's when belly slammed her door behind her and stomped towards our car, I couldn't help but feel the embarrassment creep onto my face. Right now I wanted to be at home, under my covers, not to be seen by the world.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She deadpanned.

"Uh, just catching the end of our favourite movie." The boys laughed.

"You have no right! You have to go!" She pleaded, looking into the back of the car; that's when she saw me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat when we made eye contact, pain laced in her face knowing I was with the boys.

"Liv?" Her voice broke making my heart shatter.

Normally, I would say something but I was speechless which was very unlike me. I always had some sort of sarcastic remark but not this time.

"Oh, Belly, relax, we-we were just joking around."

"Steven, if you don't leave, I swear to God I will send everyone in this car your Dramione fanfic." I stifled a laugh, there was no way Steven had made a fanfic.

"You wouldn't." Oh shit, she wasn't lying.

"Oh, he spent an entire chapter talking about Draco's wand." My face contorted to a look of disgust, matching the looks of the boys in the car.

"Hey, seriously? Please leave." This time she looked at Conrad with the same pleading look.

Connie being the oldest had always been seen as the Leader of the group, when the boys were younger they would follow him around like lost puppies. If Conrad did something, they did it.

"All right, let's go, guys." It was like something inside him had snapped, his once playful tone had turned serious which was quite a bizarre sight.

"Wait, what? Are you kidding me?"

"Steven, drive the car."

"You were the one who wanted to come, Conrad."

Just like that, we were now reversing out of our spot and driving down the same path that we hadn't long just been down. I felt a pit of guilt rise in my stomach, I shouldn't have let the boys come let alone step a foot in the car.

After we had got home it was quite late, the moms were upstairs and the boys had retreated to their rooms. It sounded like a smart idea, hide in our rooms and pretend like nothing ever happened. It surely would decrease the chances of us getting caught.
