✩ 𝐈 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔, 𝐈'𝐌 𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐘chapter fifty — emotional motion sickness
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:As I exited the exam hall, I weaved my way through the bustling crowds of people, eager to leave the scene as swiftly as possible. With each step, I pressed my phone to my ear, the sound of its ringing resonating in the air as I impatiently waited for Steven to answer.
"Hey, man. How'd the final go?" Steven's voice came through the phone, instantly bringing a smile to my face.
"Yo, you ready to visit me in sunny California?" I asked, unable to contain my excitement.
"Hell yeah!"
"Congratulations, Connie," Lee's voice chimed in, slightly muffled but still audible in the background.
As their voices accompanied me, I made my way toward the car park, my anticipation growing by the second. I couldn't wait to share the news with Jeremiah and Belly. Thoughts raced through my mind, and a permanent smile adorned my face. Finally, I could transfer to Stanford and be in a school I knew I would truly enjoy.
However, my elation quickly dissipated as I noticed Jeremiah and Belly kissing passionately over my car. I felt my heart drop, standing in a state of shock, unsure whether to make my presence clear or not, feeling rather uncomfortable.
"Connie you still there man?" Steven questioned startling the two in front of me as their eyes widened in shock.
"Conrad..." Bells trailed on but I shook my head in realisation as I watched the two.
I felt my heart rate increase as I disregarded their shouts and made my way round to the driver's side. The car began to rev as Jeremiah banged on the window to gain my attention.
"What are you doing?" He shouted from the window making me finally turn to look at him, a pleading look on his face as Belly stood behind him in confusion. The two of them had managed to find each other again, even after everything that had happened this summer.
"Something I should've done a long time ago!" I exclaimed with a grin, my hands gripped the wheel as I reversed out of the parking lot and made my way down the road.
The road stretched out before me, the two figures disappearing into the distance as I heard a voice echoing from my phone. I realized with a jolt that I hadn't ended the call with Steven. I quickly put the call on loudspeaker, needing to focus on the road ahead.
"Steven, where are you?" I asked, my foot pressing down on the accelerator as I sped down the highway.
"Waiting for Liv at Harvard, why?" Steven's voice crackled through the phone.
