His glowing eyes. His lifeless eyes. (Story 57)

This story is inspired by a segment in the manga/episode of Tokyo Revengers. 🙂

Dazai and Kunikida got out of the taxi, they were standing at an abandoned torn-down structure filled with junk. "Let us split up Dazai." Kunikida suggested, "Alright." Dazai and Kunikida went their separate ways. Dazai explored different areas of the abandoned place, and eventually, he sensed a familiar presence. He walked closer seeing a person sitting on a pile of metal junk, sun rays shined down in the empty space, and the roof was completely gone.

"Dazai, you actually came." Dazai looked over, it was Chuya Nakahara, Dazai's eyes widen at the sight. "I've found you, Chuya." Dazai mumbled, "What are you doing here?" "I came here because I had an intuition feeling you were gonna show up." Chuya smiled, "Dazai when you left the Mafia. Oh, I meant, when you vanished. A part of me vanished too." Dazai raised his eyebrow, "I didn't want you to leave, I wanted you to stay and continue being my partner. We made an amazing duo." "I know we have." Dazai smiled, "Yeah, but you left." Chuya's voice trailed off. "I wish I could have stopped you from leaving, Dazai." Chuya let a sigh escape his lips, "Kōyō always told me to 'move on' and 'let go of you' but I couldn't." "Chuya..." Is all Dazai could say, Chuya took off his black coat throwing it in the air, he grabbed his gun.

"Dazai. I want you to end it all." Chuya tossed the gun to Dazai, Dazai watched the gun fall in front of him, and Chuya stepped down off the metal pile of junk. He stood infront of Dazai. "I want you to end it right here. End my dream." Chuya smiled at Dazai, Dazai looked at the gun and then at his partner, "Are you...Are you crazy!?" Dazai shouted, "As soon as I find you, you want me to kill you?! Are you out of your damn mind Chuya?! I only came here to see you Chuya! Not to kill you!" He shouted again. "Kill me Dazai." "You've changed Chuya! The Chuya I know wouldn't want this!" "You're wrong."

Chuya said with no emotion, "No! You're wrong!" Dazai shouted back, he gripped onto Chuya's shoulders, "Stop this!" Chuya shoved Dazai to the ground, a loud thud echoed throughout the empty room, and Dazai groaned hurting his head. Chuya sat on Dazai's stomach, "I wish things were different Dazai." Chuya picked up the gun and pressed it against Dazai's cheek, "Chuya..." "I want you to know, I don't regret working with you the very first day we meant. I don't regret anything I've done with you, Dazai." Chuya smiled, a tear dripping down his cheek, "They say scars have the strange power to remind us that our past is real.-" Bang, a gunshot was fired. Dazai's eyes widen. He didn't get shot. Chuya's blood splattered on Dazai's face as he collapsed on his side.

Dazai looked over seeing Kunikida holding a gun, "Dazai! Are you alright!?" He shouted and walked towards the two, his hands on the gun. "Chuya!" He shouted and scooped up Chuya's dying body, Kunikida shot him in the head, and Dazai's hands were soon covered in Chuya's blood. "Chuya! Stay with me, please! We'll get you to help okay!?" "Dazai! Stay away from him!" Kunikida shouted getting closer, Kunikida saw the gun on the ground, and his eyes widen. The safety was on.

Dazai was frantic, he held Chuya close to him getting blood all over him, and tears were forming in his eyes. "Chuya!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, he couldn't lose Chuya, not like this. "Is that...Kunikida?" Chuya asked, Chuya was staring at Dazai. "Thank you, Kunikida. I doubt Dazai could have done it." In his blue eyes, tears swelled up soon dripping down his cheeks. "Chuya! Don't worry, we're gonna save you. I promise you! I promise!" "Don't say such depressing things." Chuya tried his best to smile but couldn't, he was getting weaker and losing too much blood. Chuya rested his head in Dazai's hand, and he smiled. "I feel warmer." He looked at Dazai, Dazai had tears pouring out of his brunette eyes. "Osamu Dazai." Chuya smiled, his eyes brightening, glowing for a few seconds before they turned lifeless and dull. Dazai clenched Chuya's hand, "Chuya!!!"
