Chuya and Dazai were laying side by side on a rooftop together stargazing. The stars were bright tonight in the city. "Hey Chuya, I have to tell you something." Chuya looked over at him raising an eyebrow, "What is it?" "I'm leaving the Mafia." Chuya dropped his beer bottle, not expecting those words. Dazai looked at his partner's face seeing a dumbfounded expression. "What?" Were the only words Chuya could say, "Yeah, that's why I wanted to spend tonight with you because I won't be there tomorrow. Chuya, promise me you won't tell anyone I told you, okay? I trust you, and I don't want them to find me." "Where are you heading off to?" Chuya managed to ask, his heart and mind were racing anxiously.

He couldn't lose Dazai. "I'm not sure yet heh." Dazai smiled, "Dazai, please don't go." Chuya lowered his head, he was trying to hide his emotions. Dazai gently placed his hand on Chuya's warm cheek, "I have to get out of this hellhole Chuu." "And you are just gonna leave me? Dazai you son of a bitch. I joined the Mafia because of you! The very first day we crossed paths, you fucked me up! We have been through crazy shit together you and I, I don't want to lose that." A single teardrop from Chuya fell onto Dazai's hand. Dazai was taken aback by Chuya's words, his cheeks started to burn up. "Chuu-" "Shut the fuck up! Don't fucking leave Dazai! I still need you." Chuya shouted, his head still lowered so Dazai couldn't see his angry eyes or face.

Dazai eventually gave in, a sigh escaped his lips. "Alright, let's leave the Mafia together." Chuya raised his head, "You're serious?" "Yeah, I am." Dazai smiled, seeing Dazai smile made Chuya smile too. "You better have a plan for us shit-head." Chuya held Dazai's hand, their hands intertwining together. Dazai leaned in kissing Chuya, and they both melted into a kiss. After a few moments, Dazai broke it up. "C'mon Chuu!" He shouted, they both got up and ran towards the edge of the rooftop. "To a new life!" Dazai toasted, "A new life!" Chuya toasted back with a wide grin, and with that, they both gracefully fell backward off the rooftop.

2 Weeks Later:

Dazai had arranged a meeting with Santōka Taneda, they meant inside a restaurant. "Ah, Dazai how have you been?" Taneda was caught off guard as another person followed behind Dazai. "Oh, I didn't know you were bringing a friend, I would have ordered another drink." He chuckled awkwardly, Dazai and Chuya took their seats, "No worries Taneda! Thank you for squeezing us in." "No problem, so your letter said you are looking for...What exactly?" "A job for me and Chuya here." Dazai smiled putting his arm around Chuya.

"A job? Well, what happened to be an executive at the Mafia?" "I left, and so did Chuya. We want to be able to save people now." "Oh? What a significant change for you and your friend here." Taneda wiped out his fan and leaned in, both Dazai and Chuya leaned in as well. "Stay on the low for about two-ish years for a clean slate, and I might just have a job for you and your friend here." "Will we be able to save people?" Dazai asked with a hopeful smile on his face.

Two years have roughly passed by, and Dazai and Chuya have been hired to work at the Armed Detective Agency. Together, Dazai and Chuya got to go on missions, and investigations, saving people on a daily. They both annoyed Kunikida to death and made friends along the way. "Are you two heading home soon?" Yosano asked the duo, "Yeah, I and Chuya are just finishing up some paperwork." "Alright, make sure to turn off all the lights when you boys are done. See you tomorrow." "See you." They both said at the same time, Yosano walked into the elevator taking it to the first floor. "What's for dinner tonight?" Chuya asked getting up from his desk chair, "Hmm, what are you in the mood for?" "Miso Soup." "Sounds like a plan! Let's get going then." Dazai exclaimed and got up from his desk chair, they both got in the elevator together and left the Agency building together.

Chuya looked up at the sky, then looked at Dazai. "Hey, Dazai." "Yeah? What's up Chibi?" "Do you ever think about the Mafia anymore?" "Nah not really." Dazai smiled and looked at Chuya, he caught Chuya looking at the big tower, the Mafia's headquarters. "Do you think about it?" Chuya snapped out of his trance and looked at Dazai, "Not as much, I love what I'm doing here at the Agency. Working with you, working with other cool people, saving the world." Chuya smiled, "Me too Chibi."

Nakahara Chuya's POV: (Age 23)

I felt the sun shining its rays down on my face, bastard. I woke up from my slumber, damn I haven't had a good sleep like that in a while. "Dazai?" Wait, why did I say his name? It hit me, that was a dream. Everything was just a dream. I sat up and leaned over digging through my nightstand drawer searching for something, and found it. I pulled out a photograph that Dazai took of us on my sixteenth birthday. We were still in the Mafia, and we celebrated the whole day together. He isn't with me anymore, he's out there saving people in that stupid ass detective agency. And I'm still a part of the Port Mafia, I'm an executive. But, that was a good dream, a happy dream. I felt tears forming in my eyes, I held my knees to my chest and held onto the photograph. The photograph is dear to me, I will cherish that and that nice dream.
