Chapter 39 You Meet My Group And I Meet Yours

Waiting at the table, Hua Meili saw Guo Zhongcheng and Zhongcheng Qingren coming down first. 

The two sat at her left side.

Following behind them were Du Hexi and Mu Hexin, they also sat down.

Even though both are her Black Shadows and can go on without eating as long as she is alive, they also need to eat to act normal.

If others notice that they are not even eating a single grain of rice, would they blame her for being heartless for not letting them eat?!

"Xiao Mei, are you happy now since your brother came back." Guo Zhongcheng asked.

He smiled at her, happy that finally, her brother is home after all those 'years' that he was gone from her side.

"Yes, I am very happy since he is back safe and sound."

Hua Meili forced a smile on her lips trying to act overly happy about his return.

Even though her body misses him, her soul feels awkward because she is not that close to him.

Even the original is not close to him, then what about her?

"We're glad that his finally back." Zhongcheng Qingren said as a rare smile crept up on his face.

Talking for a while, Jin Hua and his friends arrived at the dining hall clean and proper.

They sat one by one on the right side of Jin Hua since he is seating on her right side.

Jin Hua does not seem to dislike having the both of them sit at the host seat, instead of disliking, he seems to really like the idea of having her sit right beside him.

"Wow, there's so much food!!"

The green-haired man was so excited to see so much food right in front of him that drool seem to escape from his mouth. His eyes were sparkling as he looks at the food.

"I'm starving!"

The brown-haired man beside the green-haired man looked at the food with sparkling eyes also drooling.

"It's a feast!"

The red-haired man put his two hands up and muttered some praise about some Deity above that she does not understand.

"It's very nice of you for preparing a feast for us. Since the Apocalypse started, food has been scarce and could be considered the most important thing for all people. I thank you from the bottom of my heart." The blue-haired man said solemnly.

Even though he no longer looked at her with wariness, he was still stiff and straight as a pole right in front of her.

"Don't mention it. You have come from a very far place and I bet you must be all hungry for rushing over here. The road was long and the path dangerous so you might have exhausted yourself very much. At the least, as friends who accompanied my brother throughout his journey, I could only thank you with food to fill your stomachs and a house to stay." 

Hua Meili smiled at them warmly.

She was thankful that they accompanied her brother all the way home so she prepared a feast for them.

She knew just how hard the journey was so she was really thankful that they accompanied Jin Hua during his journey back.

But even so, she was still cautious and wary about them since people cannot be trusted easily.

Even though different thoughts run inside her heart, she did not let them be seen on her face. 

She just kept on gently smiling at them.
