Relationships: Kíli x female reader (or Kíli x Tauriel)
Summary: You take Tauriel's place in Middle-Earth a long time before Erebor's quest. Will you be able to save the Durins or will they suffer the same fate?
*
A winter day, you woke up in a dark, cold forest. A dense forest you never saw. You were lost and hungry. If a group of elves didn't find you, you would surely die. Yes, a group of five woodland elves in the flesh. Their language was incomprehensible to you, but as they saved your life and seemed to ask to follow them, you followed them without complaining.
While you followed them, you tried to figure out where you were. Everything seemed so vegetable, green, but dark and cold. And there were elves everywhere. It was only when you arrived at a kind of palace that you noticed a beautiful, young, blond elf among the group who saved you.
They brought you in front of a tall, regal, blond elf. You had some suppositions about the place but it was only when King Thranduil introduced himself in front of you that you believed it. Well, you understood nothing but his name because he talked in elvish, you guessed.
So, you were in Middle-Earth. In Mirkwood. In front of the king Thranduil. And he was very handsome, but that is not the first thing you should think!
If we came back to the situation, the young, blond elf who saved you earlier was then Legolas, and he walked to his father, certainly to explain to him they found you lost in the middle of the forest.
They talked for a while before turning toward you. During their discussion, you remained quiet. Who would want to intervene in a discussion between Thranduil and Legolas?
Oh, and of course, their discussion was in an elven language! So when Thranduil talked to you directly you didn't know what to say.
"It seems she doesn't understand a word of Silvan Elvish or Sindarin. Do you understand westron?" Thranduil asked in westron from his throne, looking at you.
"It seems I do, Your Majesty," you tried with the most polite voice you had.
"At least, she is polite, and knows westron. I think, since Legolas asked for it, we can find you a place here, if you wish to stay," he said as he was looking at you seriously.
You took your time to think about it, but in reality, you had no choice but to accept his proposal. Where could you go? Mirkwood wasn't that bad, right?
"Do you want to leave?" he asked, visibly losing his patience.
"No! I want to stay, Your Majesty! Hm, please," you quickly replied as you could see Legolas lightly smile.
"Alright. What is your name?" Thranduil asked as he descended from his throne to come closer to you.
Your name? Oh, your name from the 21st century? It would be strange here.
"Don't you have a name?" he asked, now in front of you, with his eyes higher than yours.
As you were remaining quiet with your head down, he sighed before resuming.
"Alright, we will give you a name then," he said as he seemed to think. "Tauriel. It suits you. Now, follow my son, he will show you your new room."
You stupidly stayed still for a while as he was returning to his throne.
Tauriel? Really? Was it a joke? Why did he give that name? Wasn't there already a Tauriel in Mirkwood?
The prince walked toward you with a smile and you followed him. Despite the coolness of the place, his smile was warm. Surely because, as you observed it, there weren't many young elves. You replied to him with politeness and smiles.
