Chapter sixteen
News to challenge

The day after Jane discovered Schrödinger, she was surprisingly summoned to sir Harold's office by Thomas, who had worried look on his brow. This angered and confused Jane as to why he thinks she would want to talk to him, and what he would say after the resent events.
Thanks to the early request she skipped breakfast and had to dress in appropriate Hellsing fashion, as was customary when summoned to the head office.

After informing Jane of the summons Thomas went off to retrieve something and would be back quickly. And by the time Jane stepped out if her room, dressed in a white bouton down shirt and black slacks. Thomas had already returned with a small plate of what looked to be pastries.

"I won't have the young Mistress go with out this morning, I snagged you a few honey rolls for breakfast." Thomas said ,bowing then handed Jane the plate.

"Thank you Thomas your a life saver." Jane praised and took a bite of the sticky, sweet bread. Thomas then escorted Jane to the office, where Jane had polished of the rolls leaving only a few crumbs. Thomas stopped at the office door smiling at the clean plate.

"I'll take that Mistress, go on in I will be back presently." Jane licked her lips gratefully, nodding and handing the plate to Thomas with a sweet smile.

"Thank you again Thomas."

"Don't mention it." He winked, then walked down the hall towards the servants kitchen. Jane watched him go till he disappeared around the corner out of sight. She looked at the doors thinking lowly at what wait for her inside, yet hesitantly neared it.

She placed her ear on the wood, hearing only low voices talking to each other inside. Jane breathed in and out once before knocking three times on the door. Some one spoke up on the other side, then the sound of footsteps approached.
The large door opened to show a soldier holding the door for her. Jane recognized the man to be Calin Hugori, she smiled remembering his kindness the day Integra was attacked.

"Hello again Calin." She greeted walking in. Calin raised his brows in surprise, happy that Jane remembered him.

"Hello lady Jane." Calin stepped aside letting Jane walk fully in to the office. Inside the Captian of the Fist Regiment Clay Parson, who she only met briefly before, and a few of the soldiers under his command surrounded the large desk that Sir Harold sat behind.
He looked unemotional to the company of that room in general. His eyes glancing from person to person, but there was a spark of fear in his eyes that was concealed to every one in that room except one.

Jane walked in the midst of the soldiers standing in front of Sir Harold's desk with a clear scowl on her lips, she had no intentions of keeping her disgust hidden from him.
Only then she noticed Alucard behind the arm chair Harold sat in, keeping to the shadows of a corner. His arms were crossed over his chest loosely, while he leaned casually on the wall, but kept a watchful eye on the room. He was back in usual attire of a large red hat covering his black hair, orange tinted glasses, crimson trench coat resting over a black suit, finished all together with a red neck tie around a white collar.

Once Alucard saw Jane walk in to view he smirked, glancing over the rim of his glasses so she could see his eyes. Jane noticed his silent greeting and smirked right back at him, happy to see that he no longer looked near to 'death', or overly beaten out.
The sleep and blood he received the previous day must have done him good, now that he was better than before.

"Alright!" Harold said shuffling together some papers on the desk. "Now that every one is here we can begin."At that everyone but Alucard took a seat on the two long couches in the middle of the room. "Let's get right to business, as most of you have heard there has been a werwolf sighting just outside the town of Ashford, so far the Fourth Regiment with Captian Mansion Falltie has already cleared the area with out any casualties or attention from the major public. Now it's your job to go in and take care of the beast, I want him dead tonight, quick and easy."
Jane narrowed her eyes at him, wondering why she was there to hear him say this. She was not a soldier, nor with the first regiment. But she did notice how frail he seemed, instead of Harold's cocky attitude towards the world, he was timid and unsure.
