Chapter twenty
The restrictions and levels of the
vampire.
Thanks to the deep drinking and heavy eating of the following night, Jane saw fit to sleep inn well through the morning alarm. She managed to remove some of her clothing and slept in her fine black pants and white shirt, as her hair was a tangled mess across the pillows sprawling on the sheets.
The early afternoon sun glared orange through the clear ice like window, shining directly into the room, tacking Jane a few minuets to register the sun and wake up.
Once she did awaken she slowly tended her self, attempting to start the day as she shuffled to her home with in a home portion of the estate. There, the leader of Hellsing could live comfortably with a parlor fitted with comfortable chairs and vanity, a cinema room, where on occasion the organization would host a movie night. A personal kitchen for Janes use only, a more casual office for only her needs, and of course her own small garden to admire.
This part of the estate was for the organization family members only, no faculty allowed, so naturally Jane was the only living person in those rooms, free to do as she pleased with out interruption, but it was lonely.
With her being the only living member of the Hellsing family left save her mother, Jane felt isolated in a pleasant way from civilization. If Jane ever felt so alone that she needed company, the option to call on Thomas was always open but she had not gone that far down in to loneliness yet.
She had Alucard to visit her from time to time, keeping her evenings occupied since he slept during the day. She didn't mind him though, now a days, he would just watch her as she read in her own library, or give her advice when she looked over and signed official paper work.
Over all he was quiet and very calm around here, despite how vicious and cruel he usually was. When they did not talk or read, he dozed on a lounge chair and Jane could just barely hear him snore in the late day hours.
So Jane undressed her self, changed from the ceremonial uniform into a more relaxed attire. Since she had no scheduled meetings, confreres, or any large amounts of paper work to attend that day a simple v neck t shirt and sweat pants would suit her needs fine.
She placed her uniform in the laundry shoot for the maids to tend, then walked to her kitchen barefoot, feeling the emptiness in her stomach yell at her. Her kitchen was the size of a normal apartment kitchen filled with all the essential equipment one could ever need. She walked to her fridge and found it stocked full with fruits, vegetables, and already cooked meals for her.
She picked up one of the containers opened it and saw eggs, un toasted slices of bread, orange pieces, raspberries, blueberries, porridge, smoked ham, and a small cup of a apricot jelly.
She smiled down at the food, took the jelly, bread and pieces of fruit then placed the container In the oven at 2.30 degrees, while the toast was in the toaster. Jane sat down at the small table by the window, looking over a miniature alley where her garden was planted, waiting for her food to be warm and ready.
Unknown to Jane Thomas stood in the kitchen door way, standing perfectly straight and still. He had a pleasant smile on his face, as he watched her.
"Good afternoon Sir Hellsing." He called. "Thought I might find you here."
"Good afternoon Thomas." Jane greeted, happy to see him.
"I was wondering where you were, the maids hadn't seen you out this morning , you were not at breakfast or called for afternoon tea. I was concerned."
Jane smiled sheepishly. "I was sleeping in, I stayed up latter than I should have and missed my morning alarm. nothing to worry about."
Thomas raised a brow. "I' see, perhapses a late start was needed after the events of last night."
