Chapter 3
“Jungsoo, finally you're here, you know the class was about to start.” Jungsoo's teacher, Grace.
She saw Taehyung and Jungsoo arrive at the school.
“I'm sorry, Ms, I got a little problem in my house.” Taehyung apologized to her.
“It's okay, by the way, Mr. J… I mean, Mr. Kim, are you going to attend family day?” Grace asked.
“Family day?” Taehyung was confused.
He knew what was that, it was a yearly celebration at the school to have kids' moments with their parents.
“Yeah, does Jungsoo tell you about that? You know that the kids love you here. They kept asking me when they will see you again because you're so gorgeous.” Grace glanced at Jungsoo back to Taehyung.
“No, he didn't.” Taehyung uttered while looking at his son.
“Jungsoo, why you didn't tell your Appa about that?” Grace crouched down, asking Jungsoo.
“I don't need to.” Jungsoo responded.
“What do you mean by that? He's your father, he should've known about that.” Grace stated.
“It's family day, right? Then, it's me, Ms. Shin, and Dad, who will attend that. That's why I don't need to tell Appa.” Jungsoo explained.
“Who's Ms. Shin?” Grace asked Jungsoo with confusion on her face.
“Halmeoni said, she will be my new parent. She will take care of me once I grew up. And Appa won't be my father anymore because Dad will marry her.” Jungsoo stated.
And that stung Taehyung's hurt, maybe a bit?
No.
So much that it felt his heart burning and tearing into pieces.
He just wanted to be a good father to his son, but why was Jungsoo pushing him away too?
“Jungsoo, you can't remove your Appa as your parent.” Grace told Jungsoo.
“But Halmeoni said it's possible, and it would be good for me because Ms. Shin is beautiful and rich. She will be on my side forever, unlike Appa.” Jungsoo replied with a smile on his face.
The reaction that Taehyung hasn't seen in a while.
“We should get inside now, your classmate was waiting for us. Get in.” Grace patted Jungsoo's bum.
Jungsoo ran inside and Grace stood up from crouching down.
“I'm sorry, I guess he still doesn't understand his situation, he's a kid. I will explain to him if necessary.” Grace felt bad for Taehyung.
She knew he's been wronged in this situation, even though he was the one who cheated, allegedly.
“No need, it's okay, I'm sure he will just get confused about it. Just please take care of him.” Taehyung smiled.
A fake one, of course.
“I will go now, see you later. I hope you will be fine.” Grace patted Taehyung's shoulder.
Taehyung just nodded his head and watched Grace walk away.
Tears fell from his eyes, holding them for a long time. It hurts him to find out that Jungsoo didn't consider him as a family. He thought he was doing well being a father to him, but he was mistaken.
Will Jungsoo appreciate his effort, at least just in the meantime?
No.
Because no one knows how much he suffered. He had to be strong even though he was breaking apart. He had to do everything for Jungsoo.
