Chapter 9
Taehyung woke up early because of the stinging pain in his body. He didn't feel any pain last night, and now it started to sting.
He decided to buy delicious food for Jungsoo and they are Samgyetang, Kimchi Stew, and Galbi. He makes sure to pull the hoodie to at least hide his face when he looks down so the bruises won't be noticeable while they were eating.
He heard the door of his room open, he was sure it was Jungkook because he can see him through his peripheral vision. He tried to act as if he didn't notice him, but he hissed in agony when Jungkook slightly tapped his back.
“What's wrong with you? It's just a light tap, why are you hissing?” Jungkook asked, scanning him from behind.
“It's nothing, w-what do you want?” Taehyung responded, biting his bottom lip to stop himself from hissing.
“Move aside, you are blocking the fridge, I need to get some water.” Jungkook retorted.
“S-sorry.” Taehyung moves aside, still not showing his face because he hasn't put on any band-aid yet.
Jungkook opens the fridge and gets some cold water. Meanwhile, clumsy Taehyung forgot that he got a mark on his wrist, so he lifts his sleeve up to his elbow to prepare the food he bought.
He flinched when Jungkook held his wrist, turning him around.
“W-what are you doing?” Taehyung pulled out his wrist from Jungkook.
He cursed under his breath, knowing he got caught, and realized it late when he pulled down the sleeve of his hoodie. He gasped when Jungkook grabbed his jaw, making him look at him.
“What happened to you?” Jungkook asked, looking at his wounded face.
“It's nothing.” Taehyung replied, pushing Jungkook away.
He flinched once again because Jungkook hit the cupboard behind his head.
“I'm asking you, Kim Taehyung, what happened to you?!” Jungkook inquired, gritting his teeth while glaring at him.
Taehyung knew Jungkook was mad right now and that scared him.
“I told you it's nothing, I just got in trouble with my work. It's all my fault.” Taehyung lied, swallowing hard.
“Who did that to you?” Jungkook changed his question, knowing Taehyung was obviously lying right in his face.
“No one, no one, did this to me.” Taehyung kept lying to him.
A surprised gasp left his mouth because Jungkook ripped off the hoodie he was wearing. He knew Jungkook is strong, but not this much that can totally ruin a fabric.
Jungkook saw huge black and reddish bruises on his stomach that were caused by a punch.
“Who… who hurt you, Taehyung?” Jungkook asked.
His stern tone earlier somewhat turned into sadness or emotion that Taehyung can't tell.
“Why? Why are you asking? It's not like you're going to do something. Whatever happens to me shouldn't bother you, Jungkook. Don't interfere in my life!” Taehyung retorted, trying to act tough, but deep inside, he was shaking in fear.
“You're right, I shouldn't interfere with your life. I just don't want you to show that kind of the face of yours in front of my son. Fix yourself, you look so disgusting right now. I don't care about you, I care about my son.”
Jungkook left the house and Taehyung started to cry afterward.
