Episode 14: Chasing and Chasing

(This is a shorter one, but there is a reason for this. There wasn't much to add to this scene, and I have been very busy with my classes and a part-time job. Either way, thank you for being patient and still enjoying this story with me! The next ones will be longer! Thank you! Enjoy!)

           "Oh, man. Where did Mario go?" Luigi asked nervously, "I know he said it was ok for me to see Princess Daisy before I attend the tournament, but I didn't expect this long of a wait"

Luigi had to make a detour before heading to the event. Mario promised to meet with him after the opening ceremony and call. Mario didn't call, so Luigi assumed the worst had happened to his brother. Luigi sighed as he continued to walk down the path, alone and with worry.

"Maybe I should find another way to reach him. This is unlike him" he pondered.

As he was walking, something small and orange was walking pass him. He jumped at the site of it which was a Waddle Dee. Well, more than one Waddle Dee walked away from him as he held up his shaking fists.

"What are they doing here? Why is there so many of them?" Luigi wondered until King Dedede drew his hammer back.

He swung it forward to then striking Luigi! Luigi let out a wail as he was flung into the air and knocked into his trophy form! The trophy form of Luigi then landed on top of King Dedede's hammer as the giant penguin laughed in delight at the site of Luigi in his trophy.

"This will make an excellent stand at my castle!" King Dedede said with a grin as he then marched with the rest of the Waddle Dees to his castle.

They carried the trophy form of Luigi and marched to the castle in the distance. However, Wario sped pass them and spun King Dedede! King Dedede was dizzy as he knocked a few Waddle Dees on the ground and made them drop the trophy form of Luigi.

"Ah, that's interesting! Mario's pathetic little brother is in his trophy form!" Wario laughed as he picked up Luigi's trophy and then put it on the back of his cart with the Ness trophy and Twilight Zelda trophy.

The Waddle Dees jumped when King Dedede was knocked on the ground and then held angry expressions. They charged at Wario and pushed him away from his bike and cart!

"What the heck?! Why is this happening to me?!" Wario exclaimed as he tried to get back to his bike.

The Waddle Dees continued to push Wario away as King Dedede recovered and saw the bike and the three trophies in the cart.

"Wow! More trophies! Let's go!" King Dedede exclaimed as he pushed the gas pedals and sped away from Wario!

Wario dropped his jaw down in shock as he watched King Dedede flee from the scene. Wario jumped let out a yell of frustration as he wondered what he was going to do now. He was getting paid for this... He nodded his head and decided to gather more trophies in another location. He walked away, but he still grumbled.

Meanwhile, in the distance forest, Twilight Link was walking through it while looking at the invitation in his hands. He was surprised to be invited to the tournament.

"I wonder if Zelda is already fighting. Maybe Midna too" Twilight Link wondered as he rubbed the back of his head, "I am grateful the village let me go, but I am still worried. I don't know if I will be able to make in time for the opening ceremony"

He continued to walk until he passed a sleeping Yoshi who was snoring loudly. Twilight Link was surprised as he noticed the green dinosaur resting until he felt a familiar power calling to him.

"Must I take up the Master Sword again?" Twilight Link wondered as he recalled the same power he felt when he first sensed the Master Sword.

He looked around the forest as Yoshi woke up and blinked at the site of Twilight Link.

"Yoshi! Yoshi! (Link! Is that you?)" Yoshi greeted warmly as he hopped over to Twilight Link.

Twilight Link blinked at Yoshi and recalled his time as a wolf for the reason he could speak with Yoshi.

"I am sorry, but I don't know you" Twilight Link said as he pulled out the invitation to him, "I was invited to this tournament recently. This is my first time fighting here"

Yoshi looked at the invitation and nodded at the newcomer's invitation.

"Yoshi... (I see...)" Yoshi answered, understanding the situation now, "Yoshi, yoshi, yoshi (Well, we better get moving. We have to head to the tournament)"

"I agree, but first, I have to find something of mine" Twilight Link explained as he looked at his left hand to see the Triforce glowing again, "I am sure it is near"

He walked through the thick areas of the forest and stopped at the same site where the Master Sword remained. It was exactly how he left it before. Twilight Link took a deep breath in before he took a step towards the stand. Yoshi simply watched from afar. Twilight Link then took the hilt of the sword and gripped it. He used his strength to slowly pull the blade out of the stand. He then raised the blade above his head as it shined with the powers of light and courage.

"Very well. If I must take up the Master Sword again, I will" Twilight Link whispered to himself as he then held the blade before him.

He put the blade in his scabbard and turned to Yoshi. Yoshi simply waited for Twilight Link who took a calm breath and then nodded his head.

"I am ready to go" he said with a grin.

Yoshi happily grinned as the duo departed from the forest and followed the source of the darkness before them.
