summer sings, a season of memories

Silhouettes of you, walk back to me

A winter of waiting, now washed away,

As the birds sing your being, in their blissful ballet.

Reminding me of sneaky visits in heaven,

Wishing for your glimpse, at eleven eleven.

Maybe it was our last meeting,

But my heart holds on, still beating.

It's a Herculean task to accept, I'll never see you again,

My heart hungers for healing, from this never ending pain.

Not the diluted doses, of memories in my mind,

But the presence of you , leaving the past behind.

Summer speaks, with its warmth and wonder,

Bringing back memories, like lightning and thunder.

A season of sentiment, a season of sighs,

For the one who is gone, but forever in my eyes.

Like a rose reaching for the sun,

My heart hankers for you,

the only one.

As we approached the vans, I claimed my usual window seat and Divam slid in right next to me.

Just like every day, everyone was engrossed in their phones, except me. Not that I was the righteous person, I simply didn't own one at that time.

Besides, I always loved gazing out the window, especially at this hour of tangerine sky. As the cool wind caressed my cheeks, I loved to watch the park that we used to pass by. All the laughter and the carefree chase of kids, it was all too lovely to miss.

"Don't you own a phone?" Divam asked as he looked at me after a few minutes of being absorbed in his screen. I simply stared at him with a puzzled and amused expression. "Sorry, I think that came off rude," he stammered out immediately after hearing his own words. "No, it's fine. I know you weren't trying to be," I said with a gentle smile.

"And no, I don't. I think I'll delay buying one until after 12th grade. I tend to lose myself with a phone," I said with a light laugh. "I get it. It's a guilty pleasure." He said and switched his phone off and tucked it in his backpack.

"Nice choice," I said, chuckling. "But you must have to spend hours talking to your dear boyfriend," he teased.

"He is not my boyfriend and I'm not saying it because I'm shy. He is just... not," I said, explaining.

"Oh, you guys seemed to be in a relationship with the way he was flirting," he said.

"He's just a tease. He's always like that," I said.

His stop came soon, and he got out. But as soon as the van was about to leave, he shouted "Bye Sanya!" very loudly.

And all eyes were on him. And as the van started moving, all those curious eyes turned to me. As I sat like a mortified red tomato. Why would you shout it like that, mannnnnnnnn ? I screamed inside my brain.

I've never wanted an invisibility cloak in my life as much as i wanted in that moment
