Eyes with purpose to see,
And hold back tears with glee,
But yours, my dear, hold paradise
A sight that brings me to my knees.

Voice with purpose to speak,
And express emotions unique,
But yours, my love, dipped in honey,
Births fireflies that make me weak.

Ears with purpose to hear,
And listen to sounds so clear,
But mine were made to detect your waves,
Igniting my heart with fission so dear.

Heart with purpose to pump,
And keep us alive,
But mine was carved to be threatened by your presence,
Waiting patiently to die.

Heart with purpose to pump,And keep us alive,But mine was carved to be threatened by your presence,Waiting patiently to die

Indeed senses in love just act like they are drunk ,
Which maybe they are on the existence of your beloved :)

I paused for a moment. Who was Arun sir? Oh, right. The in-charge sir. I remembered his name now.

"No, he's not my uncle. I don't really know him. He's just...a friend of my father, I guess." I answered her question.

A, who had moved to our side of the aisle, sat in front of us and turned his head back when he heard this.

"Really? He's not your uncle?" He asked with curiosity.

"No, he's not." I repeated.

"But he came to our class before you joined and told us to treat his niece nicely. He said you were his niece." He said. Was that why he was picking on me? No wonder B was so scared that time.

"No, it's not true. He just treats me like his niece because of my father. That's all." I explained.

"Oh, okay." He said and faced forward again.

"I don't care if you're his niece or not. But I'm glad you're not. Now we can bitch about him." She said with a laugh. "He's such a jerk."

It was time for Social Studies, and the teacher announced a surprise test on all the chapters he had covered so far.

I felt anxious. I hadn't learned those chapters at school yet. I had no clue what they were about or what to expect.

I told the teacher that I was new to those topics and asked him to excuse me from the test. But he dismissed me with a wave of his hand. He said it was fine and told me to try anyway.

Everyone else started writing, and the teacher left the classroom for a few minutes. I looked at the questions. They were like a foreign language to me. Dhriti noticed my confusion and whispered some answers to me. She only managed to help me with a few MCQs before the teacher returned and she had to stop.

I handed in my paper with a sinking feeling.

It was mostly blank.
