CHAPTER 7.2

"Rae?"

"Hmmm?"

"Remember last time, we came here for a party, Andy and I dragged your sorry ass here and now you have the sexiest boy on campus as your boyfriend Camilla teased

"Shut up," Rachel joked earning a laugh from the two

"He still hasn't picked yet? "Andy asked from the passengers seat.

"Yeah" Rachel had been trying to call her boyfriend throughout the day and he hadnt picked up, she hadn't seen him physically in two days and they only spoke briefly on the phone on those days

"Maybe he's busy, you know he's the host" Andy assured. Andy had asked Devon who was Hoseas best-friend and that was what he told her

"Yeah, I'll just meet him there instead" Rachel sighed,

"Better, now smile foolish lover," Camilla joked and Rachel forced a smile, she had this bitter feeling at the pit of her stomach that made her uncomfortable but she couldnt point it to anything yet.

When they got to the party, just like before, the music was blaring. Not long after they entered, Hosea came to meet the girls with a charming smile.

"The girls of the party finally came" he teased but Camilla punched him while Andy kicked after which they scolded him for making Rachel worried, he explained he was busy and joked about making the party as perfect as him which earned him a laugh from the girls except Rachel, his smile and humour didn't quite reach his eyes, he looked tired already.

"And here's my girl," he came over and placed a soft kiss on her lips.

"Happy birthday," Rachel said trying to force a genuine smile for him, she kissed him lightly.

"Well, we will just leave you two. See you later Rae"

Rachel turned to Hosea once the girls left " are you okay? you don't look comfortable "

"Yeah princess, it's just the birthday flu, new age makes me uncomfortable"

Rachel sought to find a relief in that statement but couldnt, she still felt on edge as before.Rachel hugged him "Don't worry, you still look good in your old age" she teased and he laughed but it didn't match his eyes again but Rachel brushed it off, it was his birthday and she wasnt going to ruin it with her seamless thoughts

"So, would you like a drink?" he offered

"Yeah sure"

"I'll be back" he winked at her before leaving

It took a while before he came back "what took you so long?" she asked

"I'm sorry he placed a kiss on her cheek many people want to meet the celebrant" he explained

"Anyways, I got you something," Rachel said as she brought out a little black box from the little bag she had with her, Hosea collected the box and stared at it

"Open it " she cajoled

Hosea opened the black box and there was a necklace with a key pendant.

"As you know, I am very sentimental with necklaces so I got you these because you mister has the key to my heart" she winked at him with a smile

Hosea looked at the girl with the pretty smile and had given him everything she cherished and all he could do was hug her.

"Thank you. This really means a lot and I dont deserve you" he said before kissing her deeply.

Rachel broke off the kiss after a while "are you sure you are okay?"

"Yeah" he responded with a wobbly smile, "you can have your drink, lets take that as my appreciation," he said.
