Chapter 28

After taking a few minutes to calm Demi down, Kaida asked if we wanted to talk a little about the fusing process. Demi and I agreed so he explained - in great detail - what we had to do to prepare and what we needed to do while he performed the spell. He said that in it's entirety, the process should take around 20 minutes so Demi and I had a discussion about when we wanted to go through with it. I made a good arguement when I mentioned she could go back to work sooner because I know she hates sitting around doing nothing. She nodded and said she couldn't think of reason why we couldn't do it now.

With Kaida giving us his approval, I went to my room and Demi went to hers. I changed into a pair of plain black bike shorts and a plain black sports bra, throwing my hair into a messy bun. I made my way back down stairs with Demi not far behind, she was wearing the same thing I was. Kaida called us to the garage and upon entry I noticed he had everything set up for the fusing ritual. We didn't say goodbye as he wasn't going to be gone, he would still be there; within us and unlocking our true potential.

He told us were to lay and he lay between us, holding one of our hands in his. We closed our eyes and let Kaida begin the ritual. He recited the spell in a continuous loop and at around the 5 minute mark, I started to feel a warmth begin to grow in the hand Kaida was holding. It slowly crept up my arm and began spreading throughout my body. Another 10 minutes went by and the warmth started to condense, almost as if it was being drawn to my heart and my mind.

As quick as it started, the ritual was over and I felt... whole almost. I don't know how to explain it but it felt amazing. I opened my eyes and I could see clearer than I ever could before; I could hear better than ever before; I could even smell better than ever before. I smiled, I could feel Kaida' spirit settling within me. I slowly sat up and looked over at Demi, seeing she was doing the same.

It was silent for a moment before I broke it, "So, how do you feel?" I asked Demi. She chuckled, "I know he's there but I feel the same." she said placing a hand over her heart. "I also feel like an entirely new person. I feel amazing." She stood up and stretched a little, testing her body for aches and pains. She laughed when she didn't feel any, I started laughing when she began flexing her muscles. 'Fuck, why is she so goddamn gorgeous' I thought as I watched her.

I glanced up at the clock, it was only 11:30am. I stood up and asked Demi if she wanted to workout for a bit, she nodded and we headed upstairs to change into some gym gear. I met her in the gym room and we warmed up together before starting our workout. Three hours later, we were both sweaty but not at all drained. This took Demi by surprise but I explained to her that because of Kaida' spirit, she would have slightly enhanced strength, endurance and senses. All she did was laugh and said, "That's so cool." I chuckled along with her and warned her that she'd have to be more aware of the power she puts behind her punches to which she nodded and we went to shower.
