Chapter 67

After telling me what happened, I made Demi call the police to report the incident. They sent out a couple of officers to question Demi and me as well as sending some officers to her house to investigate. As it turns out, I knocked her ex and his friends out cold because we were informed that they were still unconscious when they arrived. I stiffled a laugh at this because it had been over an hour since we got back to my place.

Thankfully though, I wasn't arrested or charged with anything as they saw it all as self-defence which I was happy about. They asked Demi of she had showered after the incident to which she said no so they asked if she would be okay with going with them to the hospital to get checked out; she agreed.

She asked if I would go with her and of course I said I would but I had to call someone to come look after Tyra. I stepped away for a moment and called around a few people I knew and trusted to watch her but unfortunatly, none of them were available. I understood why as they all had matches or prior engagements so I called the one person I knew would be free...

Athena.

I was hoping that I could have kept her being in Orlando a secret until dinner but I couldn't leave Tyra home alone. I called Athena and explain the situation as best as I could without going into too much detail; thankfully she agreed and was on my doorstep within 15 minutes. I greeted her and took her up to Tyra's room, I asked her to wait outside the door while I quickly spoke to Tyra to which she nodded.

I knocked on Tyra's door and heard a quick 'Come in' so I entered, closing the door over but not shutting it. I sat next to her on her bed and told what was happened, I never went into detail as she is only 14 years old but she understood what I said. "Now, I have called someone to stay here to watch you and Demi's dogs while I go to the hospital with her." I told her and call out, "You can come in now." and with that, Athena stepped into the room. Tyra's reaction was what I hoped it would be, she jumped up off her bed and ran to Athena, tackling her into a hug with tears streaming down her face. "I'll let Athena explain how and why she's here and not in San Diego okay." I said and Tyra nods. I smile and place a kiss on her head before leaving the room.

We get to the hospital and Demi gets examined. I hold her hand every step of the way and after about an hour or two, we get to go home. Once home, I notice it's almost 5:30pm so I head to the kitchen and make a start on dinner. I told Demi that she could go shower and change but she stays by my side and helps as much as she could until it's all done. I set the table and text Tyra, asking her and Athena to come down. A few moments later, they appear and I make quick introductions before we sit down at the dining table to eat.

After everyone is finished, Athena and I grab all the dirty dishes and we take them to the sink. She says she'd take care of them and for me to concentrate on taking care of Demi so I thank her and do as I was told. I grab Demi's hands and guide her upstairs to my bedroom. Once there, I sit her on the edge of my bed and grab out some clean clothes for her. I walk into my bathroom and start the shower before exiting, grabbing a towel, the clean clothes and placing them on the bathroom counter. When I enter my room for the second time, I notice Demi hasn't really moved so I walk over to her and crouch down. Placing my hands on her knees gently, "Dems, the shower is ready for you. Do you want to do it by yourself or do you want my help?" I ask. She looks down at me and asks, "Can you help me please." her voice sounds so small and broken but all I do is smile and nod my head as a blush appears on her cheeks.

I stand, offering her my hand and help her up. Leading her to the bathroom, I shut the door behind us and help her out of the clothes the hospital gave her; dropping them on the floor. I undress myself and help her into the shower. I shampoo and condition her hair, massaging her scalp as I do so before I move on to her body. I grab my loofah and lather it up with some of my body soap prior to carefully washing her entire body. I take my time with every step to hopefully try and relax her enough so she can get a good night sleep. When I'm done, I shut off the water and we step out of the shower. I grab a towel and dried her off, my touch just as gentle as it was in the shower and help her get dressed.

I then wrap another towel around myself before leading her out of the bathroom and over to my bed. I pull back the covers and help her lay down, tucking her in. I dry myself off and put on a pair of cycle shorts and a baggy t-shirt before crouching down beside her head, "I'll be back in a minutes okay." I say quietly, knowing she would her me and she nodded in response with her eyes closed. I smiled and placed a soft kiss on her forehead before I left the room. I found Tyra and Athena in the living room playing with Barry and Luna, "Tyra, are you still going over to Becca's place for a sleepover tonight?" I ask upon entry. "I have already texted her saying that something came up but if it was still okay that I'd go over tomorrow instead." She replied. Then all of a sudden, she gasped, "Can Athena stay over tonight? She can stay in my room with me." she says with so much excitement. Athena and I chuckle, "Of course she can, if she would like too." I say, looking at Athena and she nods.

I don't think I've seen Tyra so overjoyed about something before but seeing her so happy about this made today worth it in the end. After asking them to make sure the patio door and the front door was shut and locked with the dogs inside before they went to bed, I left the living room with a heavy sigh while pondering what to do. I made my way up to my room to find Demi fast asleep so I carefully got into bed. She rolled over and curled up into my side, clinging to me as I wrapped my arms around her. I placed yet another soft kiss on her forehead and slowly but surely drifted off to sleep, still thinking of ways I could bring my Demi back... but how, that was the question.
