Chapter 62

After sending the email, my phone started to ring and it was a person I was hoping to hear from...

I look at my phone and am shown none other than Hunter's Caller ID.

Phone Call

(H is Hunter and P is Payton)

P: "Hey Hunter."
H: "Hey Payton. I'm calling because I have some news about what you asked me the other day."
P: "Okay and what would that be."
H: "Well, unfortunately there are no positions available with the hair and makeup team but if you wanted too, you could hire someone yourself as you do your own hair and makeup anyway."
P: "Okay, that's fine. I'm assuming if I did hire someone, I'd have to pay them out of pocket."
H: "Yes. The only way we'd pay them is if they were hired by the hair and makeup team."
P: "That's fine. Would you need to be notified if I did."
H: "Only if you wanted them to come with you when you travel for shows."
P: "Okay. Well, thank you H I really do appreciate it."
H: "No problem kid but can I ask, if you don't mind, why'd you ask anyway?"
P: "I can't say much because a certain someone is home but I wanted to bring someone who is very special to her closer so they could spend more time together."
H: "Ah okay. Well, let me know how that goes and I'll see you soon kid."
P: "I will H and thank you again for your help. Bye Hunter."
H: "Bye Payton."

And with that I hung up. I looked up and notices Sheamus looking at so confused, "What." I said with a chuckle. "What are you up too?" He asked, raising a brow. I reply as I walk over to him and wrap my arms around his waist. He nods in understanding and we head back downstairs.

I told Tyra about the email I received from the school and she was so happy. She texted Becca and a few minutes later she asked if she could go hang out with her, I said she could and she was off. Sheamus stayed for a coffee then left to go pick up his dog and take them home, I used this opportunity to text Athena and see if it was okay to call her. She replied a few minutes later saying she was now on her lunch break and was free for me to call so I did.

Phone Call

(A is Athena and P is Payton)

A: "Hey P."
P: "Hey Thena, how are you?"
A: "I'm good. Work is stressful but nothing I can't handle."
P: "That's good. That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about."
A: "What was?"
P: "Work. Well a job offer really."
A: "Oh okay." *I could hear it in her voice that she was a bit confused.*
P: *I chuckled.* "I've been doing a lot of thinking since Tyra and I got home from San Diego and she misses you a lot."
A: "Yeah I miss her so much too."
P: "So, do you remember when you told me what your dream job was."
A: "Yeah, I remember."
P: "Well I want to offer you a job as my personal hair and makeup artist."
A: "Wait what!?! Really?"
P: "Yes Athena, really. I've already spoken to my boss and they are fine with me hiring someone. I have to be the one to pay you but I am more than happy to do so if it means Tyra can see her sister more often and be happier. Plus your 19 and with Tyra possibly starting school soon, I will need someone to watch her if I have to travel for shows."
A: "Oh my god. That would be amazing but Payton, how will I get to Orlando. I mean, I don't exactly have a lot of money and I can't just drop everything and leave."
P: "Do you know how much I make a month? I will help pay for everything if needed because Athena, I want you and Tyra to be closer as sisters and not across the country only seeing each other on the off chance I have a show in San Diego." *I could tell she was crying from her slight sniffles.*
A: "You don't have to do that Payton, I'm sure I'll figure it out somehow."
P: "You don't have to figure anything out, I'll pay for everything. I mean it Athena, I'll pay for your plane tickets over; I'll pay for a hotel until we can find you a place; I'll help you find a place to live and even pay for the rent until we agree on how much your pay will be."
A: "I don't know what to say but thank you so much Payton. This means so much to me."
P: "Sooo that's a yes to the job offer?"
A: "Yes, a thousand times yes." *We both laugh at this.*
P: "Okay, well I'll let you get back to work now. Make a start on getting things together and let me know when you're ready to move over and we'll figure it all out okay."
A: "Yeah I will and thanks again Payton, I really do appreciate it."
P: "It's no problem at all. I just want what's best for you because I think of you as a daughter too Athena, even if it isn't official. Also, I want this to be a surprise for Tyra so could you not tell her please." *We share a chuckle.*
A: "Of course. Well I'd better get back to work. I'll get hold of you when I've got everything sorted. Bye Payton."
P: "Okay, bye Athena."

I put down my phone after we hung up and got on with the rest of my day.
