An old English male, ROYSTON ELLIS, is being driven through the streets of Male, by a friendly CAB DRIVER.
The streets of Male are filled with people celebrating Maldive's National Day, Quamee Dhuvas.
"You arrive on a very prosperous day my friend. Today is our national day, but we locals call it Quamee Dhuvas...." the cab driver informs Royston.
Royston is staring out of the window of the cab, not really paying attention.
The cab driver does not notice Royston's inattentiveness, and continues, "In the 1500's, our great King Muhammad Thakurufaanu freed our people from Portugese rule......"
It is then that the cab driver notices Royston's sad countenance and keeps quiet.
