Song: Somewhere Only We Know- Keane
This is what I like about photographs. They're proof that once, even if just for a heart beat, everything was perfect.
—————-Miles's POV:
"Before we get to the place, you have to promise to let loose, and not be a grump okay?" I ask her, and she nods. "I need you to say, 'I promise not to be a grump Miles.'" I tell her, and she rolls her eyes. I internally smile. She's been talking and joking around. As much as I hate to admit it, Dravon's plan seems to be working.
"I promise not to be a grump, and I promise to let loose." She tells me, and I smile.
"Good." I tell her, and we go back into silence. I connect my phone to the bluetooth, and shuffle my playlist. Since I'm not sure what she listens to, I just pick my mixed one, and hope it'll do.
"Where are we going?" She asks, and I smirk.
"We're going somewhere only we know, ZeeZee." I tell her, and she jerks her head towards me.
"What did you just call me?" She asks.
I hesitate to answer for a moment, "I called you ZeeZee." I tell her, and she nods. "Why do you not like it?" I ask, and she shrugs.
"How do you like MiMi?" She asks, and I laugh.
"So you remember, and all these years you've been ignoring me?" I ask her, and she shakes her head no.
"I don't remember. My mom told me a little bit about what we used to do when we were little, and showed me pictures she had posted on her Facebook. I still didn't remember anything, but when I was looking through the pictures last night; I remembered that necklace a little bit. My mom told me you got mad at me, and I gave it to you as a promise that you will forever be my best friend." She explains to me, and pauses. "When you were getting the food earlier, I remembered a time when us and our moms were there, but other than that I don't remember anything. Do you?" She asks, and I look at her confused before focusing back on the road. "Do you remember? Like everything we used to do?" She asks, and I nod.
"I do. I remember a lot of it. From being four playing at the park, to being seven swimming at the lake. I have all the pictures that were taken too." I tell her, and she looks down at her hands. "It's okay that you don't remember. Do you know why you don't remember?" I ask her, she sniffles, and gives me a small nod. "Do you want to talk about it?" I ask, and she shakes her head no. I leave it at that, and we continue driving in silence.
We're slowly making fast progress right? Her laughing, joking around, and admiring she doesn't remember is some type of trust right? It has to be.
When we stop driving, when we are at a swim hole that has a bunch of trees and hammocks around the swim hole. We used to come here during the summer when we turned five. "What are we doing here?" She asks, and I shrug.
"I told you it's a place only we know. Our moms used to bring us here when we were little. We used to swim for hours, then we'd get into the biggest hammock, and we'd nap until we had to leave." I tell her, and she laughs.
"Definitely sounds like something I'd do." She tells me, and I smile.
"You still love naps?" I ask, and she nods.
"What are we going to do while we are here?" She asks, and I shrug.
"I didn't think you'd want to swim, so I brought all the pictures my mom had printed out of us. I figured maybe we could get in the big hammock, and look at them." I tell her, and she gives a small nod. "I can tell you about what we were doing if you want." I tell her, and she says okay.
