Song: Little Boy In The Grass- AURORA
No one knew the battle she fought inside of her everyday, but no matter how dark it got, she kept a smile and shined her light for anyone who needed it. Even though, she was the one who needed it the most.
———————————Miles's POV:
There she is again. The girl, who is slowly closing off all of her friends, changing the way she dresses, and how much she talks. No one outside of her friends really knows her, but we watch her. I watch her because I know that she is losing herself. We watch her because not ever her own friends see she's changing.
"He's watching her again." Elijah tells Dravon, and I roll my eyes.
"We all watch her dumbass." Dravon points out.
"She's wearing a hoodie and loose pants. Of course I am watching her. It is eighty degrees outside, and she is wearing a hoodie." I tell them. "Not to mention, but she just walked right past her friends, and she is looking down without paying any attention to anyone." I tell them.
"What do you think is going on? We all watch her, but you really observe her. You know something, but you haven't mentioned anything. You just drop a lot of hints." Dravon says, and I roll my eyes.
Now let me explain, I am not a creep. I swear on my mom.
One day, I was walking into class late, and there she was sitting on the floor crying her eyes out. We made eye contact, but she quickly looked away. I saw the bruises, at first I didn't know if I was seeing things, but when she got up, and bent down to pick up whatever she dropped, her shirt rose, and I saw the ones on her stomach. There are many things I haven't told the guys about her, and with time I will tell them. But for now, I’m keeping it to myself.
"You'll figure it out soon. I'm not going to tell you my thoughts on it yet. With time I will, but not yet." I tell him, and he nods.
"Well we need to get to class." Elijah says. We grab our bags off the floor, and start walking towards our classes. Thankfully, we all have classes with her, so we can always keep an eye on her. They guys think she is being bullied, but I think she is being abused. She doesn't watch over her shoulder like she would if she was being bullied, but if someone raises their voice she gets prepared to jump up if needed. I'm not an expert in this stuff, but I have seen a few things before and I know signs.
"Miles?" Someone says beside me, and I look to my right, I see a confused looking Dravon. "Dude, you walked past your class." He tells me, and I look around the hallway.
"Damn. I got lost in thought. I'll see you guys later." I tell them, and they nod. I turn around, sprinting towards my class. Once I am in the room, my eyes scan it, looking for very familiar dull blue ones. Once I see them sitting in the back, my nerves settle, and take my seat on the opposite side of the room. Since she has all of us in three classes and lunch, we all see her four times during the day. Which makes it easier to keep an eye on her.
Class goes on, and I stay zoned out. By the time the bell rings to dismiss us, I watch the door to see when Kenzie leaves, but she is already gone. I never even saw her leave. I quickly grab my stuff, and go to meet the guys. As I am walking to their class, I feel something more like someone runs into my back. I look down and see Kenzie picking up her dropped phone, she looks at me, mumbles sorry, and takes off. I watch her walk towards the class Elijah and Dravon just came out of.
Weird that isn't her next class. She doesn't even have that class.
"You good?" Elijah asks.
