Miles's POV:

"No you idiot. It is not a good idea to put biofreeze next to your dick." Dravon tells Eli, and I laugh.

"Well how else am I supposed to get my leg to stop hurting if I can't put biofreeze on the leg my dick goes on?" He asks. I tune out their argument because it’s always stupid.

I feel my phone start ringing, so I pick it up and see that Kenzie is calling me. "Fuck nuts, be quiet. Kenzies calling." I tell them, and they nod.

I click answer, and put the phone up to my ear. "Hey Kenz."

"Miles right?" A little boy asks.

I’m shocked for a moment, but get over it quickly. "Yes? Is everything okay?" such a stupid question. Kezine wouldn’t call anyone unless something was seriously wrong.

The boy takes a shaky breath, then answers, "Kenzie needs you. She told me to call you. Please get here fast. She's mad and yelling. I think they'll fight again!"

My heart beat gets faster, and my eyes go wide. I feel Eli and Dravon’s stares on the side of my face, but I don’t look at them yet. "Okay. We're on our way. We'll be there in two minutes. Three minutes tops."

"Okay. Thank you." He says, and hangs up.

"Let's go. Kenzie needs us." I tell the guys, and they nod. We all rush out to my truck, and take off. Not worrying about anything we might need, not worried about getting stopped, and not worrying about our own safety.

"What's going on? Why are you driving like a madman?" Dravon asks, and I sigh deeply.

I don’t know what’s going on, so I give him a run down of the call. "Kenzie's brother called. He said that she told him to call us, and that she needs us." I explain, and they say oh. We sit in silence as the world goes by in a flash, since we are going over a hundred miles an hour.

We get to Kenzie's house, and run to the door. We burst through not caring to knock, and as we get through the door we see Kenzie and a little boy holding each other and what looks like a lifeless Violet. I freeze for a very small second, my eyes locked on Violet and her kids, my heart and breathing stopping.

I walk over to the three of them, "Kenz. Come here. Dravon and Eli will hold your mom for a minute." I tell her softly, and she shakes her head no. I sigh. I knew she wouldn't come to me, but I had a little hope.

Not long after we got there, there are cops, ambulances, and fire trucks surrounding her house. Two cops and a few EMTs come inside, and look around at the four teens and the little kid in the room. "We got a call that someone was shot." The cop says, and Kenzie nods.

She lifts her arm, and it seems to have taken a lot of energy to do that. "She's right here." She says pointing to her mom. The EMTs go over there, and tell Kenzie and the little boy to go outside while they check out Violet. Kenzie is reluctant, but gives in. She picks up the boy, and they slowly make their way outside. The guys and I follow her.
