It scares me sometimes, the emptiness I see in my eyes.

Kenzie's POV:

It has been about two weeks since we've been in the hospital. I have been to school on and off for the whole time, I have also been working with the guys on our psychology project. We even hangout after we do a little bit of work, and it has honestly been fun. Today is the day that Kinsler is getting discharged from the hospital, and that means we have to go back to the hell house. You know how excited I am for that.

Thankfully when he woke up, they wanted to keep him here for a few days so they could run tests, and keep an eye on him since he was in a coma. They didn't find anything unusual, so he's getting discharged.

"Okay chillens. Let's get our stuff so we can get out of here."  Mom says, breaking me out of my thoughts. Kinsler and I nod, and make sure we have everything. Even though Kinsler doesn't have anything, he still checks around the room. "Ready to go?" She asks, and we nod reluctantly. "I know, just one night there, and then tomorrow night we'll be gone.” Mom promises.

Another thing that has happened in the past two weeks that I forgot to mention is that mom checked out that apartment we talked about, and she got approved for it, so tonight will be the last night we ever have to stay at that hell house. "Let's go." Mom tells us, we walk out of the room, and out of the hospital. When we get in the car, we all stay silent.

When we arrive at the hell house, the monster isn't there thankfully, so we calmly make our way into the house. Once we get all settled, we stay in the room for a while. After about a few hours, the devil arrives, and you can feel the tension. "I'm gonna go talk to him. You two stay here." My mom tells me, breaking our silence.

"You know that he will hurt you or try to kill you mom. There is no way you are going out there." I argue, and she sighs.

Based on her look, I already know she’s going to argue with me. “I am supposed to protect you. Not the other way around.

Her statement has me shaking my head. "This is not up for discussion and you know that. So if you'll excuse me, I am going to grab us something small for dinner that you don't have to cook." I tell her, and go to walk out the door.

"Ken, be safe please. I don't want to go back to the hospital." Kinsler tells me, and I nod.

"I promise." I lie. I unlock the bedroom door, open it slowly, and walk out of the room. I head into the kitchen, grab a few bottles of water, the peanut butter, jelly, and bread, To make it look like I am getting food, just in case Jarred was listening. As I am in the pantry, I hear footsteps behind me. When I turn around, I see a very enraged looking monster.

"Where the fuck have you three been?” He yells, and I shurg, acting like it doesn’t matter. Because it doesn’t as far as he’s concerned.

"Oh you know, living our best lives while Kinsler was in the fucking hospital. Thanks for giving a rat's ass about him by the way." I say sassier than I meant too.

Jarreds face turns red,"Why the fuck was he in the hospital, and why the fuck did no one bother to tell me about it?” He yells.

"Because we knew it'd be pointless. You don't give a fuck about anyone, so why bother? If you were so worried about it, then you would have fucking called." I point at him, and he lets out a sick chuckle.

His eyes narrow, and his chest rises and falls fast. "Why would I give a fuck about any of you? I never even wanted you or your brother. Your bitch of a mom was supposed to be a fling, but she fucked it up and got pregnant with you.”
