Give Me A Lifeline

*************************************

I lost all my goodbyes when I set you free

I tried with open eyes but I couldn't see

Narcho was struggling a bit. The way his body kept pulling him in many directions. One was the physical side of old injury and the other one being the superpower that made him so unlike any human he's ever met.

They once were a bunch of soldiers with superpowers but now they were just a wreckage of old failures.

He fleetingly went back to the old memories and tried to pinpoint if the lookalike could be from their crowd but it didn't come. He only remembered Nate.

The screams were gone by the time he decided that there was nothing to loose anymore. That there was nothing else worth than to save them all or at least try to do that even if in the end that meant death...

He was past the point of dying by now. If he could get Nate to safety like he'd always wished for, give him the life of freedom and future, it was worth it all.

He'd bring stars and moon from the sky for that man and that's how they were all along.

He couldn't tell exact direction to go so he let the shadows do their deed.

His body already succumbing to the power of shadows. He let the transformation envelop his whole being in the wisps of darkness and he felt the molecules moving already.

He was becoming a shadow and it felt so natural. So empowering.

Like nothing else in the world.

Cover me and give me a lifeline

Give me a lifeline

Give me a lifeline

The energy in that room above still pulled at him but less than up there. It was good but he still needed the distance.

He let his body slide one more level down. It was most gentle landing but still left him fighting for air. And all he had was one inhaler...

Despite that he couldn't erase the feeling of that magical energy. The Dark Serpent Energy. It was something the locals held up on something as higher power but they also knew their planet was having it in the core. And the tree was a key to balance that cosmic level of chaos energy.

He learned that there were some monks that held its magical powers and knew how to manipulate it for whatever reasons.

To Nate it felt dangerous and for sure stealing the tree and the portal would cause one hell of a chaotic mess.

He'd never seen one but he'd read about Dark Serpents. They were these ancient magical creatures that resided in hidden places and held massive amounts of power and knowledge. They held all kinds of powers, including the Shadow Energy.

Shadow Energy was also part of the ancient magic that some humans of off-worldly ancestry could wield. And he somehow had it along with Noel.

And he knew Samara did too, but hers was less developed. Her training included some shady knowledge but they did give her lots of their standard bs of skillset. Just like the rest of them.
