'What are you doing out here?' I asked.

His crooked smile was cute. 'I don't wanna get mud on my shirt. I just brought this yesterday.' He replied, gesturing to his shirt which totally looked like an 80's rock band shirt.

I sat a comfortable distance away, not wanting to get Ryan dirty.

'It doesn't look very new to me.'

'Well, I did get it in the dollar bargain bin at save mart.' I laughed at his reply. So it's second hand. I should've guessed.

'Why are you shaking your head at me?' He asked.

'Because, I should've known by the looks of it. Defs has that 'vintage look to it.' I sniggered.

'Are you dissing my shirt?' Ryan asked, raising his eyebrow at me.

I put my hands up in defense, smiling. 'No, no I'm not.' I tried to say, but I found it a little hard as a chuckle would worm its way out every now and then.

'Say what you want but I think this shirt is awesome.' Ryan said confidently while looking down at his shirt.

Well, ya can't knock someone when they 100% believe in something. Even if it is about a second hand shirt.

'Ok ok whatever man, peace. I dig the shirt.' Ryan smiled in appreciation.

'So why'd you run away from the war?' Ryan asked, and I turned away. I couldn't look at him too close.

I felt like there was this wall between us now, and I wasn't sure if I put it up or him.

'Well some would speculate that I 'ran away,' I gestured 'but I simply needed some fresh air.' I inhaled loudly and leant back on my hands. I closed my eyes and found that I was telling the truth. I really did just want some fresh air.

I heard a snigger from Ryan and without opening my eyes, I slapped him on the arm.

That earned a playful push in return.

'Pretty sure you would've run away from J or someone cos you jumped on them.' Ryan said and I had to say I was quite surprised by his accuracy.

'Ha. I knew it.' I heard him mutter.

'Ever the joker, you are.' I replied under my breath.

'You know it babycakes!'

That deserved a laugh. A loud one.

I was surprised when I never heard Ryan say anything.

I finally opened my eyes and I wished I never had.

Standing there in all of his... his brutal glory was Damien, with that ridiculous smirk plastered on his face.

I felt my pulse quicken and my mouth dried up in terror. It was like I had tunnel vision or something, I could only see him, there was no peripheral vision.

'You move on fast babe.' Damien spoke, that voice loud and crisp and clear in my head. He had the nerve to speak to me like that after what he's done.
