Ashley
"Are you okay in there?" The nurse knocked on the door.
I quickly wiped my face and opened the door.
"Yeah." I sniffled.
"You sure?" She asked me.
"Yeah." I walked to the bed and sat down.
"You need anything?" She sat down in a chair on the other side of the room.
"My memory."
"You'll have to wait for it to come back to you."
"When am I going to get out of here?"
"When we make sure you're healthy."
"I feel healthy."
"It's not just that. You need to find a place to live, a job. Or someone to stay with."
"And since my family members are all deceased," I sighed. "I have to stay here for a while."
"Not really. You can find someone to stay with if you'd like." She started to read a magazine.
"Who? I don't know anyone." I said.
"Hmm. That's true. You could move with your uncle." She laughed.
"Haha." I said sarcastically.
I laid down on the bed, thinking of where I would live.
"Wait." I sat up.
"What?" The nurse looked up from her magazine.
"Where am I?" I asked.
"In a hospital." She responded.
"I mean, what city is this." I said.
"Oh! You're in London." She said.
London? Maybe I could find an apartment.
"If you had a lot of money." The nurse said.
"I said that out loud didn't I?" I asked.
"Yup." She flipped the page of her magazine.
I mentally noted to not think out loud.
