Calum

"There." I said, handing the policewoman the clipboard.

"Thank you." She said, reading what I wrote.

"Why do you need us to do that?" I asked her.

"She tried to murder you. She could get arrested." The policewoman said.

"What? She's schizophrenic! That's not fair! Maybe she could control herself!" Michael defended.

"She still tried to kill Calum. And you just said it yourself, her mental state isn't good. She might try to kill you again. Or even worse, try to kill herself." She said.

"B-Bu-"

"Calum, just leave it alone. It's for the best." Ashton cut me off, putting a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"B-Bu-"

"Calum." Ashton cut me off.

"Bu-Fine." I sighed, putting my head down on the table in defeat.

"We're not actually arresting her, though. We are sending her to a mental hospital, so don't worry." The policewoman said before leaving the room.

"Ah." Luke groaned, touching his purple nose.

"Don't touch it. It's gonna swell up." Ashton told him, slapping Luke's hand away from his nose.

"So, when can we leave?" Calum asked.

"I don't know." Michael said, standing up.

"Where are you going?" Ashton asked him.

"I don't know." Michael shrugged.

He walked up to the door, and opened it widely. He casually walked out, making Ashton, Luke and I quickly stand up and walk out after him. We all walked down the narrow hallway, awkwardly bumping into a few policemen, and finally reached the lobby. We signed ourselves out, and left the big building.

"CAN WE GO SEE ASHLEY?!" I asked, pulling Ashton's sleeve as I begged.

"Dude, she tried to kill you." Luke said, touching his nose a bit.

Ashton slapped Luke's hand again, and Luke pouted.

"You can go, I'm going home." Michael said, getting into the van.

"Me, too." Luke said, jumping in after Michael.

"I can go with you." Ashton sighed, getting in the van.

"Okay." I said, getting in after him, and sitting next to him.

Michael and Luke cuddled in front of us on the way to the hospital. It was kind of weird, but they both laughed at each other. Ashton was on his phone, scrolling down Twitter. I sighed, and looked out the window. Ashley's face appeared in the window. She was smiling, laughing, and her brown eyes glittering. I smiled at her, and she said something.

"Die." She said, laughing afterwards.

"What?" I asked in disbelief.

"Die." She disappeared.

"Did you say something?" Ashton asked, scaring me when he touched my shoulder.

"What?" I asked, turning to face him.

"Did you say something to me? I heard you mumbling something." Ashton repeated.

"No, I just-No." I said, looking back out the window.

Once we got to the hospital that Ashley was in, Ashton and I got out the van. Michael and Luke headed back home.

"Is Ashley Ross here?" Ashton asked the secretary.

"Yeah, are you her family?" She asked.

"No, we're her friends." Ashton told her.

"Oh. She's in room 330. Polly will take you there." She said, pointing at a girl my age sitting beside her, chewing her gum loudly and her music blasting out her earbuds. "Polly? Polly, dear."

"What, 'ma?" Polly ripped her earbuds out her ears.

"Take these gentlemen to room 330, please." The old woman asked her.

"Whatever." Polly mumbled, standing up and walking around the desk towards us.

She lead us to the elevator, which we took to the third floor, and lead us down a poorly lit hallway. It reeked of bleach, and there were sounds of people crying coming from the closed doors. I heard a loud scream come from the room at the end of the hall, and a group of nurses and doctors ran into it. One of the nurses crashed into Polly, making her fall onto the floor. The nurse kept moving without an apology.

"Are you okay?" Ashton asked, helping her up.

"Yeah." Polly said, dusting herself off.

She pushed her blond hair out of her face and started walking again. She lead us the the room across from the room where the scream came from, and opened the door. Inside, Ashley sat in a pale blue hospital bed, writing on a clipboard. She didn't look up, and wrote faster than I've ever seen anyone write.

"You know the way back down, right?" Polly asked, leaning onto the door frame.

"Yeah." I said.

She walked away, and back down the hallway.

"Hey, Ashley." I smiled, walking towards her.

She ignored me, and kept writing. I took a peek at what she was writing, and saw the words 'Die', 'Jack' and 'Calum' all over the paper. She started growling, and ripped the paper in half while trying to make a uppercase letter 'J'. She threw the clipboard across the room and hugged her legs. She cried into her knees, and I quickly went to comfort her.

"Hey, it's okay. Shh, calm do-"

She looked up and scratched my face, making me stumble backwards. I almost tripped on myself, but Ashton caught me. I stood back up and touched my cheek. I felt something warm and gooey. I took my hand away from my face and saw blood all over my fingers.

The nurse sitting nearby rushed up to me, and helped my clean up my face. Ashton and I were pulled out of the room when Ashley started throwing things at the walls. I was on the verge of tears. The nurse put one last bandage on my cheek and went back into Ashley's room. I let out a soft sob and started crying into my hands.

"Calum," Ashton hugged me, and I started crying into his shoulder. "It's okay. We gotta get back home, alright? We'll visit another time."

I nodded into his shoulder, and stopped crying. Ashton smiled at me as I wiped my cheeks, and we walked back down the hallway. We took the elevator down to the first floor, and left the building.

Once we got back home, I instantly ran into my room, slamming the door behind me. I flopped onto my bed, face-first, and cried into my pillow. I heard someone knock on the door, but I ignored it and let out a sob. The door opened, and the bed dipped to my left.

"Calum?" I hear Luke ask.

"What?" I snapped.

"Why're you crying?" He asked.

"Ashley."
