CHEATING ON ME

Hyun's POV

"You, okay?" Jake approached me to caress my back. He was outside the police station, waiting for me. I told him to stay out so I could talk to Shin Chul with the police privately. He insisted on following me inside but was lost in our little argument. He smiled at me, gently pulling me away to his car. "It's time for you to relax, let's go?"

I nodded.

Jake asked me if we could go out for a date and I said yes. But, I told him to accompany me to the police station since Jay couldn't come with me, I needed to go to hear Shin Chul's statements if ever he decided to mention the name of the guy that basically manipulated him into thinking that he should threaten me. We rode his car and I am in the shotgun seat next to him, sitting at the driver's seat, finally leaving that hell of a place.

I wasted my time and Jake's only to hear that guy's bullshit.

He maneuvered his car smoothly until the police station was out of our sight. I looked to my left then to the right, trying to familiarize the road we are taking. I heard Jake chuckling, making me glance at him. "We're going to my place, where I hide myself every time I'm feeling down." he said. "Trust me, you'll forget your problems. You're with me, so relax."

I smiled at him, satisfied with his assurance. I felt relieved hearing him saying those words not because he made me calm myself knowing that he is going to be with me to forget my problems temporarily but because he took the guilt I was already feeling, away. I couldn't explain why, but, something makes me think that I'm betraying someone by simply going out with Jake. Why am I bothered like this?

I let out a sigh to erase the thoughts occupying my head. I'm with the person that I like and I should be enjoying the moment. I kept quiet until we arrived to his place that he was referring to. His place was a house, not that big but it look really nice. Considering its exterior, I was sure that the interior would look even better. Jake assisted me, opening the door of his car for me to get out. He smiled before pulling me by my hand to enter his house. I looked behind me to glance outside and saw the pine trees surrounding his entire house. The air was refreshing that my terrible mood changed.

Jake closed the door before inviting me to the living room. I sat on the couch while looking up at the medium sized chandelier hanging. "Wow," I was amazed that my jaw dropped. I was expecting his house to look pleasant in the eyes but it was more than what I imagined. The furniture were carefully selected that every piece shares mostly the same color. It was like the house has a prince living in it. "Can I ask for your interior designer's number?" I asked excitedly.

"Interior design— oh, it was me, I picked the furniture myself, the shades of the wall— everything!" he proudly replied.

"Really?"

He nodded. "I only asked for help when everything was ready to set." he added with a smile on his face. "Now, would you like to stay here or follow me to the dining room?"
