[Balfonheim Port - City streets, Enter Clyde Arrowny as the local pirates are locked into battle with Shin-Ra infantry units. Smoke and fire breaks out in several of the surrounding buildings, a much needed diversion to plan his escape]
Baram: Atta boy 'Kuraido', didn't doubt you for a moment!
Clyde Arrowny: [looks around at all the chaos unfolding] Why are the troops doing this? I can't see this act of war holding up in the senate.
Baram: We are pirate scum, nobody gives a damn what happens out here, not to mention we are an independent nation that isn't even internationally recognised. But don't you worry! we can handle anything that is thrown at us.
Clyde Arrowny: I need an exit out of town, no questions asked.
Baram: [grins] Had a feeling you were going to say that. That'll cost ya 'nother share of the bounty.
Clyde Arrowny: Yea yea whatever. Just buy me a diversion alright?
Baram: So this is the last time we'll ever see each other? damn, don't know why that hurt my heart.
Clyde Arrowny: Guess so.
Baram: Damn still with the tough guy act?
Clyde Arrowny: Don't act like you know me alright kid? If it wasn't for your stupid ass none of this would have happened to b-
[Enter Shin-Ra Infantrymen as they spot Clyde Arrowny and Baram]
Shin-Ra Infantryman #1: Open fire! wipe them out
[Clyde Arrowny grabs Baram's arm and pulls him into cover, Clyde Arrowny draws his bow as several hundred bullets blast the brick wall they are using for shelter as he begins to return fire]
Baram: Now this is an adrenaline rush!
Clyde Arrowny: You pirates are crazy, these guys aren't messing around!
[The rapid fire of bolts from an automatic crossbow can be heard as bodies drop to the floor and the firing ceases]
Pirate with Crossbow: Neither are we lad! get yersel' a proper weapon and join in the party!
Baram: [stands and rushes over excitedly grabbing one of the fallen infantrymen's weapons] Count me in!
Clyde Arrowny: [stands and follows cautiously] that isn't a good idea if you've never shot a gun before.
[Enter SOLDIER 3rd Class Operative who takes a swing at the Pirate with Crossbow before he is immediately parried with a defensive block and strike with Clyde Arrowny's dagger]
