[Doma - Petite-Clémentine Manor. A prestigious residence overlooking the Kingdom of Doma. It is just gone afternoon, rays of sunshine flood through the ceiling-high windows and into the extravagant dining hall. Enter Elayne Petite-Clémentine as she hurriedly sets the table, presenting a platter of meat, cheese and drinks. Angela Petite-Clémentine and Kaien are sat down, awaiting Clyde Arrowny's arrival.]
Angela Petite-Clémentine: I'm telling you Elayne, he was being more of a freak than usual today.
Elayne Petite-Clémentine: [scoffs] Angela! we all agreed we would respect Kuraido's right to his privacy, he's done this kingdom a great favour alongside Kaien, we owe him that much.
Angela Petite-Clémentine: [blows raspberry] Oh puh-LEASE! are we just gonna pretend that it wasn't all Kaien?
Kaien: Kuraido is as worthy of thy respect as I am. He was prepared to lay down his life for a kingdom to which he owes no allegiance—a loyalty unmatched even by the king's own warriors.
[Angela Petite-Clémentine folds her arms in a huff, pushing back her chair, hitting into Elayne Petite-Clémentine who ends up spilling a glass of wine over Kaien's lap]
Elayne Petite-Clémentine: Putain! [to Angela Petite-Clémentine] must you be so clumsy?! [she rushes to the kitchen to fetch some napkins and towels].
Angela Petite-Clémentine: It was an accident no need to cry about it. Why do we need to wait for him anyways? he doesn't even eat in front of us, it's just so frustrating.
Kaien: Why does it bother you so much?
Angela Petite-Clémentine: I don't know it just does. It just comes across as mannerless, Elayne slaves away every day to keep him well rested and well fed and he just barely acknowledges that? regardless of his past, his secrets or whatever you guys want to protect so badly, manners cost nothing!
Kaien: [rests a napkin on his lap and softly presses down] He seems to be reserved around women, maybe you just need to confront him when he's alone? explain how this all has made you feel.
Angela Petite-Clémentine: What's the point? he'll be leaving soon anyways.
[Enter Elayne Petite-Clémentine with fresh napkins and towels. She places one on Kaien's lap and sets aside the others before taking her seat]
Kaien: Thank you M'Lady.
Elayne Petite-Clémentine: [sigh of relief] Sorry about all that. [looks around] no sign of Kuraido yet?
Angela Petite-Clémentine: Just being his usual rude self! I really don't think he should be welcome here anymore.
