[Duhsh Spring Cavern - Enter Alessandra Zalori as continues to find an alternative safe passage. The mist here has settled, like dust within the air, parted and glimmering as the rays of sunlight that struggle to enter the passage hit them. The cavern was built with a purpose seemingly lost to time. Grand pillars fill the hallway ahead, submerged in water. A stairwell lies ahead]
Alessandra Zalori: [aside] The writing all around keeps fading away.
Unknown Entity: You were not meant to come across this place so early in your journey child.
[Alessandra Zalori jumps upon hearing the voice, looking around for who is could be. The voice sounds as if it is all around the room]
Alessandra Zalori: You're not a spider are you? the last one didn't have a lot to say, it was too hungry.
[The glyphs, once faded throughout the room begin to glow brightly on each of the columns. Only this time they are not words, these play out like scenes from an ancient battle. It depicts a meteorite falling to the earth, following the deliberate extermination of a human-like race. Alessandra Zalori examines these in fascination, not entirely sure of what to make of the etchings]
Unknown Entity: I am Virithuir, King of Telos, Bastion of the Cetra. Here lies my Final Rest.
[Those very words cause Alessandra Zalori's ears to point up attentively, these are the same words she read back in the ruins of Telos]
Alessandra Zalori: I thought you were put to rest in another place.
Virithuir: My body was. My spirit remains connected to this land. This memory will fade too, once you obtain this power.
[Alessandra Zalori walks through the water that submerges her feet, small fish swim close by each step she takes as she looks around cautiously, trying to find where this disembodied voice is coming from. A light shines above the centre of the room. She looks up to see a small fragmented brown crystal, it shimmers brilliantly as it levitates to the centre of the room, stopping at eye-level, a mere grasp away]
Alessandra Zalori: Is that you Virithuir...? why are you a crystal?
Virithuir: I am Virithuir's Will. The last remnant of Telos' existence.
Alessandra Zalori: You're his soul?
Virithuir: Not quite. Before you lies but a fragment of the earth crystal's power. A power that will decay or grow, strengthen or bind. That is for destiny to decide.
Alessandra Zalori: But I'm just a kid.
Virithuir: We used to think this power was promised to another. It is clear now, there is no doubt. Come forth and claim what is yours.
[Alessandra Zalori reaches forward, cusping both her hands around the earth crystal fragment. It is warm to the touch]
Alessandra Zalori: But what if, by chance, whoever it was promised to does come and looks for it?
[The voice's source surrounds the crystal in her hands]
Virithuir: Destiny is never left to 'chance'.
[The voice fades and the crystal becomes cool to the touch. Alessandra Zalori examines the crystal in fascination, knowing it was best to keep this discovery hidden from the other children, maybe even from Alenia too]
[Exeunt]
