[Duhsh Forest Interior, Woodland trail. Alessandra Zalori and Alenia Famaris are walking through the pathway when Alessandra's foot hits against a metallic object]
Alessandra Zalori: Huh?
[Alessandra looks down and crouches beside a shoulder plate, it has the mark of The Divine engraved into it. She goes to pick it up]
Alenia Famaris: Alessa!!! How many times must I warn you about what you touch?!
[Alessandra jumps with a fright and her hand flinches away from the object instantly]
Alessandra Zalori: I'm sorry, I just got curious.
Alenia Famaris: Do be careful darling, there are a lot of poisonous flora around these parts. Not to mention snakes and I can assure you snake bites are far from fun.
Alessandra Zalori: What is it mother?
[Alenia walks over to it and picks it up to inspect it. She then brushes aside a small patch of weeds to reveal a celestial archer's suit of armour and his bow]
You said not to touch it!!!
Alenia Famaris: I told you not to touch it, there is a difference darling. It appears to be a celestial archer's armour and weaponry. Most likely from that time you and Shadow were ambushed.
Alessandra Zalori: [mumbles] Shadow...
Alenia Famaris: Do not worry sweetheart, I'm sure he is merely caught up in whatever he was doing before he bumped into you.
Alessandra Zalori: Where is the body? or the bones?
Alenia Famaris: Though the same cannot be said for all creatures, Celestial beings instantly return to the planet upon embracing death.
Alessandra Zalori: Return to the planet?
Alenia Famaris: When a creature dies, its soul returns to the Grand Creator, however their spirit returns to the planet, meaning their entire being will vanish into an array of energy. The lifestream simply takes back what was originally a part of it. Our connection to the planet is fundamental in our respect for it.
Alessandra Zalori: Aren't our souls the same things as our spirits?
Alenia Famaris: A common yet grave misconception my child. All our souls return to the Grand Creator, even her Divine Grace Shyilia will someday taste death. However, like all living things her spirit will return to the planet. Spirits fuse back into the lifestream, giving the planet the strength it lost when sustaining the organism. Its a symbiotic relationship, however some spirits become twisted by the soul's dark desires. They become shadow, a horrible entity that wanders the planet, spreading corruption, never to taste death.
Alessandra Zalori: What makes some people's bodies vanish and others rot?
Alenia Famaris: Their connection to the planet, the more impure the species, the more likely it is to rot before returning to the planet. Humes are a perfect example of this.
[Alessandra picks up the Celestial bow and examines it in fascination]
Alessandra Zalori: It's beautiful...
Alenia Famaris: [sighs] I told you not to touch anything!
Alessandra Zalori: It's just a bow... can I keep it? please?
Alenia Famaris: I thought you wanted to become a healer?
Alessandra Zalori: I do, more than anything but I also want to learn archery, like the other elves.
Alenia Famaris: [smiles] You have grown so much.
Alessandra Zalori: [nods] Thank you, I'll do my best.
Alenia Famaris: [smiles] come now, we have another while to go before we reach the mushrooms.
[Exeunt]
(Celestial Bow - A standard-issue celestial weapon given to all of The Divine's archers. Across the length of the weapon is etched the following phrase: "In caelo, in terra, in vita, in morte, Divinum triumphat")
