"With the power of a scion now at their disposal, Ninus the Constructor and his apprentice Nightveil venture forth to fulfil their dark purpose. Enslaving an additional three leaders from kingdoms throughout Avrulux, they now approach Dún Ailinne Mill Fort, an ancient watermill tower that guards a crumbling stairway to the Southern floating continents of Avrulux. Maintained by seven holymen rumoured to be imbued with the ground leaves of the Yggdrasil, The Constructor attempts to learn more of the effects even a fragment of the tree's blessing can bestow on mere mortals."
[Dún Ailinne Mill Fort - Inner Sanctum. Enter a masked Nightveil as her blade piercing through the abdomen of one of the fleeing holymen. Several others lay lifeless on the floor. As the last of the holymen stumbles in sheer terror towards the large iron door to the adjoining room, The Shadow Seeker takes form in front of it, terrifying the acolyte as he falls to the floor.]
Ailinne Acolyte: Have mercy! We are unarmed! We retain the paling that separates the Warring Islands with our world below.
[Unphased by the holyman's pleas, Nightveil swiftly slices his throat causing him to grasp it as he falls to the floor. Nightveil lowers her gaze as she scans the room for any signs of life, The Shadow Seeker returning to her side.]
The Shadow Seeker: They are all dead.
[The bodies of the seven holymen slowly become shrouded in a light cooling mist, glowing upon contact with the streams of pale green and blue strings that envelop their corpses. The pale pure mist darkens to a blackened cloud as the strings transition to a darkened purple. Enter Ninus as he raises his hands up, a flow of dark aura pours from his palms, corrupting the life force that surrounds the men.]
Nightveil: Master. [Genuflects and lowers her head to the ground in submission]
Ninus: The paling will weaken over time, only a thin veil with separate the toloth dagrar from our lands. It will appear to all to be unfractured, unwavering. Only you and I will know the truth.
{Warring Islands}
Nightveil: Should one discover of this fracture in the paling? could this not be trouble, even for us?
Ninus: Such is the risk for the boon of the Yggrdrasil. Rise.
[Nightveil raises her head as she rises upon Ninus' command. As he lowers his hands the corrupted lifeforce begins to warp the seven holymen's bodies into a twisted darkness, the birth of seven powerful shadow.]
The remnants of the Yggdrasil seems to have passed through their system, further proof that, while potent, a single leaf's effects will not benefit the receiver if split amongst multiple people.
Nightveil: I don't know if my daegolwen can control seven more shadow.
{shadowlore}
[As the seven former holymen rise to into their new forms, a spectral shroud covers their sinister appearances. Ninus casts his hand in an arc towards the seven, as sharp blackened blades materialise from an ashy substance. The seven shadows grasp the blades in earnest.]
Ninus: Far to the North lies the Dunes of Epirichae. You shall travel by night, accompanied by the shadow before you. When you reach your destination, the objective remains as it was, place the mask upon their leader. Slaughter the rest.
Nightveil: The Dunes of Epirichae have been deserted for centuries Master.
Ninus: By the living perhaps. We must part ways for some time, I have been summoned.
Nightveil: By whom?
Ninus: The Senate.
[Exeunt]
