[Trellisdin Redoubt - West Approach. Enter Ninus and Nightveil as they approach the fortified boundary. A thick mist lingers across the jagged mountains, flowing upwards beyond the mountain's peak]

Nightveil: The mist grows thick, are we close?

Ninus: [nods] It will prove to be challenging to convince the Tirn i Oron to allow us past Trellisdin.

{Watcher of the Mountain}

Nightveil: Convincing them will not be a problem. [flashes her elvish blade from within her cloak]

Ninus: Do not always act in haste to deal out death. This redoubt serves a great purpose, to deter the dark forces at work from within the lost capital from ever threatening Avrulux.

Nightveil: And we are to enter such a place, why?

Ninus: [stops in his tracks before turning around to face Nightveil] Marn Boldahr, the lost capital of a race all but extinct. The dwarves were prideful, greedy, arrogant. A foolish race with no connection to the planet, lacking any form of magical prowess, even man's stones were beyond their comprehension.

Nightveil: Their extinction has led many to believe their existence was nothing short of legends.

Ninus: Only a fool destined to repeat history ignores the fallen. Foolish they may have been, but unrivalled, even today is their technology and mining methods, lost they were with their men.

Nightveil: I thought we were looking to find others to join our cause? Luminara was a success, what do we dare hope to find in a ruin?

Ninus: Despite their incompetency, the gods still gifted their people with a powerful glyph, within that precious stone contained but a fragment of their power, a sign a race was to be favoured by them. Unable to activate it, the dwarves shattered the glyph, bringing about mass destruction to their race. Now the city is home to powerful shadow, full to the brim with warped fiends and darkspawn.

Nightveil: [sarcastically] Just the sort of vacation we needed.

Ninus: The shadow within, when tamed, can prove to be both powerful and influential allies to our cause. Do not forget, the assassin who set our plans back relies on their strength, the corrupt and weak who become enslaved to their wile are exactly what we need.

[Ninus and Nightveil continue to walk until they approach a large wooden gate reinforced with large steel plates and bars. Ninus extends his hand, mimicking a knocking motion with his wrist as a shadowy wisp manifests, knocking on the large gate, there is no response for some time]

Watcher from the Mountain: Lower your hoods and identify yourselves.
