[Dhush Woodlands - Gathering circle. Enter Alenia Famaris and Alessandra Zalori, they are sat on tree stumps and are surrounding in a dense overgrowth. It is mid-afternoon and all the other elven younglings have left in preparations for their supper]
Alenia Famaris: The Night Elves, or as the humes say: "Dark Elves" are the self-proclaimed oldest race among the elves of Avrulux. With recorded existence dating back over 10,000 years, the night elves cultivated a druidic society in all the lands they settled in. Naturally proficient in magic, they were able to put their talents to many greater uses, enchanting seeds prior to germination to grow many medicinal and ability-enhancing herbs. Distancing themselves from all other tribes and races, the night elves became menacing and greedy; seeking the gift of immortality bestowed on the High Elves of Valandor.
The Night elves who once called the Duhsh Forest their home sought to replicate the Yggdrasil Tree, a heavenly boon that grants eternal life to all that consume its foliage. Unable to match the skill and purity of their ancestors, they sought new methods to bring them closer to their goal. Sacrificing fellow clan members to the Elven gods/goddesses of Old Avrulux, but to no avail, turning them towards the practice of blood magic.
Desperation drove the night elves to war among themselves. Twisted and disfigured by the cruel consequence of blood magic, Avrulux saw the coming of the first Uruk. Former magic-driven night elves, twisted beyond recognition into foul, murderous and fiendish flesh eaters. The corruption of blood magic spread fast, leading to many elves transforming into Orcs and Uruk.
Word of their corruption spread fast, leading the Nations of Avrulux to act fast, destroying the night elves and the remnants of their civilisation they desperately clung to.While the Night Elves still exist today, they remain scattered with no true leader, civilisation nor place to call home. Night elves primarily live in solitude, yet still remain ambitious to reach the former glory of their long-forgotten ancestors.
Alessandra Zalori: So that is what he wants? to help his people. It's kind of sad.
Alenia Famaris: Don't start to sympathise with his plight, that is exactly what he's looking for.
Alessandra Zalori: But what if there was a way to help him? and help everybody else? without hurting anybody?
Alenia Famaris: [abruptly] Enough. You don't understand the damage he has done to so many, to our way of life, an innocent child once thought as you did.
Alessandra Zalori: What happened to them?
Alenia Famaris: [sadly] I wish I knew Alessa.
Alessandra Zalori: She's the girl in the portrait in my bedroom isn't she?
Alenia Famaris: [startled by Alessandra Zalori's comment] Don't be ridiculous. Now focus on the lesson Alessa.
Alessandra Zalori: [sadly] I'm sorry, I just always wondered who she was.
Alenia Famaris: Do not trouble yourself with answers to meaningless questions. In just under a year now it will be time for you to seek yourself. Understand your purpose in this tribe and in this world. Solitara is not only the acceptance of your womanhood Alessandra, it will define your path and future in these woods.
Alessandra Zalori: I still don't understand how it works.
Alenia Famaris: There will be another time for you to trouble your head with that. [smiles] Focus on the now.
Alessandra Zalori: Do you think he will come back?
Alenia Famaris: It does not matter if he does, I will be with you and I am here to protect you with all my strength.
Alessandra Zalori: I want to grow up and be just like you.
Alenia Famaris: You will be so much greater Guren nín.
{My heart}
[Exeunt]
