Everyone around knew that the Bourgeois twins were madly in love with each other. No one ever had any doubts about these two, even when they quarreled and did not speak for weeks, no one doubted that these two would eventually make up.

But now Laurent narrowed his eyes angrily as he watched Larry rant about how tired he was of his twin's constant attention. Laurent was sitting on the couch opposite Larry, his wicked gaze hidden by large sunglasses. He did not doubt his twin, most likely Larry again experienced some kind of emotional crisis and decided to complain to everyone around him about what a terrible twin he had. Laurent did not blame him for this, he sometimes did it. They always irritated each other to the point of itching under the skin, so sometimes they wanted to strangle each other. But now Larry had crossed the line, discussing with someone, not even their close circle of friends, how great it would feel to not have such close attention from Laurent.

And Laurent decided to provide such an opportunity for Larry. Only this must be done discreetly, with no sudden movements, quarrels and hints. Changes between them should be light and imperceptible as if they had always been so. But how to do that?

For starters, Laurent changed plans a bit for days when they had little or no work to do. There are not very many such days, but it was still enough. Over the next few days, Laurent carefully monitored his twin and through friends and acquaintances, learned about Larry's plans, and listened carefully to the conversations between Larry and their mother, Laurent needed a lot of details.

So, the first part of the plan to punish Larry is to subtly reduce the amount of time they spend together. Laurent of course had to try, but it worked out. When Larry approached Laurent with an offer to do something together, he already had plans. Or he agreed to go to a party or dance in a studio, but after a couple of hours, he quietly disappeared.

Then Laurent reduced control over Larry's actions, he stopped waking him up, constantly pestering him, while he was slowly getting ready. He also stopped quarreling over stolen clothes, just during the analysis of things after the dryer, if his thing came across, then he took it.

Laurent also stopped standing behind Larry all the time during his freestyle. He didn't do it defiantly. It's just that if they danced with friends, then he danced himself or watched someone else.

Laurent stopped constantly asking where Larry was going and when he would be back. Stopped threats about Larry's extreme driving. And a couple of times when Larry was going to fly somewhere unannounced to relax for a couple of days, Laurent did not make a single quarrel because of this.

Larry felt that something was wrong. In recent weeks, everything annoyed him. People, his family, including Laurent, but if before this feeling passed, now it seems to have settled under his skin. And the feeling that he is missing something is quite important.

And this feeling was especially strong now when they and their friends were spending another night in the dance studio and Laurent seemed to have merged into a single organism with a strange white guy who looked stupidly like them. The two had been dancing together for several minutes, and during that time Laurent never once looked at Larry. Larry narrowed his eyes, sending waves of displeasure at his twin. And these waves crashed against the stone calmness of Laurent.

Larry could not sit, stand, or dance, he did not like everything, everything was wrong and he still could not understand what he was missing. Something very important. His gaze once again returned to the twin. Their eyes met for only a moment, but it was enough to make Larry's mind flash into realization. Laurent gave the twin a pleased wink and turned his attention back to the stranger, who now liked him more than his twin.

And for Larry, it became obvious, all that he had not noticed before. Larry no longer had Laurent's attention. They did not quarrel, Laurent talked to him and spent time, they played video games, dined together, and worked. But Laurent was no longer a mother hen. He no longer followed Larry. No more random hugs, no more slaps on the ass, no more sudden invasions of privacy, and no more fights over even the smallest things. It was all gone, and Laurent acted as if it had never existed.

Larry returned to his mother's house alone, Laurent said he wanted to spend the night in Paris, he had some business in the morning. Larry exhaled irritably: Probably wants to find a new twin, Larry said to himself. And it seems Laurent did it. Larry was watching the videos his friends made from that night, and his twin looked very happy with his full attention on this bastard. Larry paced his room like a caged animal until he abruptly grabbed his fanny pack and left the room. He was going to give Laurent just a huge scandal right now.

- What the hell, Larry! - shouted Laurent, jumping up from the floor. Larry just broke into the apartment and threw Laurent out of bed.

- That's what I want to ask you! - shouted Larry.

- What are you talking about? - Laurent pretended to be an innocent daisy.

- What am I talking about? You filthy bastard! You decided to leave me! - Larry shouted angrily, approaching Laurent to sharply push in the chest.

- It's not me who tells everyone around me how annoying the twin's attention is! - Laurent turned away offendedly and tried to leave the room, but Larry painfully grabbed his arm and turned him around.

- You could have just told me, not...-  Larry's throat tingled and he couldn't continue speaking.

- What did I do, Larry? What did I do wrong? I did everything you wanted! I stopped following you, loosened control, you have more freedom!

- But that doesn't mean you can find someone else! Damn, you found me a replacement! - Giving away more of his true feelings than he wanted, Larry walked over to the large window in the bedroom, trying to act indifferent. But Laurent would never buy into that, but he wasn't going to give up so easily either.

- Yes, this does not mean that I should look for a replacement for you, I did not intend to. It's just that someone wanted my attention, someone wanted to spend time with me so that I would follow him, dance with him. I was pleased to feel needed, not superfluous. - After Laurent's words, Larry's eyes widened in fear. Yes, they knew each other thoroughly, they couldn't even lie to each other, but they learned to hide their true feelings. Perhaps because they were unaware of them. And Larry finally realized what Laurent was experiencing. Larry just walked over to Laurent and squeezed their hands together, bringing their foreheads together the way they usually do when they can't put something into words. But Larry had to try.

- You are the most stupid of the two of us since you think that you are superfluous to me. We are together, always and everywhere, no matter how much we annoy each other. I'll be more careful what I say, and you need to stop talking to that guy. - Larry paused, waiting for Laurent's reaction. Laurent squeezed their hands tighter in response.

- Fine. But I won't part with this guy. I love the way you get mad when I spend time with him. - Larry tried to pull away from the twin, but the twin hugged him tightly.

- Bastard. - Larry was outraged.

- Asshole. - Laurent didn't stop.
