Finally, I got to my email and received the edited text. I should have done it back in July, but so many things piled on me that I completely forgot about it. I want to thank @Liljunkie2019 for your help and input! I am very grateful to you and I hope you will forgive me for not posting your editorial office for so long! And I hope even more that you haven't changed your mind to help me! Thank you very much!

Larry sat alone by the fireplace staring into the crackling fire and listening to the rare sounds of cars passing by his house at this late hour. As he curled up in his large comfortable chair, his cheek pressed snugly against the back, he allowed his mind to drift. After all, it was his thirty-second Christmas Eve and he was extremely lonely. Furthermore, this was the first Christmas Eve he was truly alone, and just thinking about it made a lone tear roll down his cheek before landing like a drop of ice on his wrist. However, Larry didn't pay attention to that cold feeling at all because his gaze was fixed on the mantle above the fireplace where a beautifully painted vase was standing tall.

It is very bright, decorated in different styles, completely breaking out of the interior, but Larry did not care at all.

Larry- You know ... I'm not the best brother for you.

His hoarse voice ruined the silence of the room, but Larry could no longer be in lonely silence. He wanted to hear at least one voice, even if it was his own.

Larry- I was not a good brother to you. Damn, lately I haven't even been a good friend to you. I focused too much on trying to be different from you, trying to prove to everyone that you and I are different. I learned too late it was not worth the effort at all, nothing is worth losing you. You are my twin, my better half, and my life. We shared everything from the very beginning.

Larry grinned wryly.

Larry- Life, each other's room, and a girl a couple of times. We promised to be honest with each other, but I lied. I Died when I said I didn't need you, that I could do better if you were not next to me, but what can I do without you? Heck, Laurent...

Larry looked with wet eyes at the painted vase.

Larry: I need you a hell of a lot.

His voice has completely lost its strength and the sound of pain in his broken heart is once again filling the silence of the room.

Larry: Why did you do that?

Larry clenched into the smallest lump, covering his head with his hands.

Larry: Why did you leave me? Left in this world alone! You promised! You swore that while I was alive, you will live!

Larry jumped up from his chair, throwing off his plaid blanket and the cat that had been sleeping peacefully under it. He went to the fireplace and grabbed the urn where his brother's ashes were. His twin.

Larry: And look where we are now !?

He screamed hysterically, falling to his knees. Holding the vase against his body, Larry slowly swayed. Tears still flowed from his eyes, but he no longer had the strength to speak.

Larry: Just come back to me...Stay with me...I want to spend my life with you ... Please ...

He repeated those words in a continuous whisper in the hope that this was just an evil dream. The nightmare that has become a reality and his life without Laurent.

Christmas Eve without Laurent. Christmas without Laurent. Like the rest of his life. This must be some irony of fate because, after their last quarrel, Laurent bought this very house he's sitting in and finally fulfilled his wish to be left alone. Now, he truly was all alone. The only people that live in the house Laurent bought for himself are his ashes and Larry.
