CHAPTER 43

May's POV (Elena)

When I opened my eyes, I was in a familiar setting. My body feels heavy and sluggish.

"May? Ayos ka na ba? Teka, tatawagin ko muna ang doctor," another annoying familiar voice again rushed towards me.

Of course, this is all too familiar. I've been here not once, but twice, and who knows how many more times. Bumukas ang pinto at nakita kong papasok si Yummie kasama ang isang doctor at nurse. Oh, she's my doctor. Is she everywhere?

"Ms. Gonzales, alam kong alam mo na. Mahina ang katawan mo at delikado na ang lagay mo," she stared at me woth her sympathetic eyes.

Of course, she wouldn't dare to lie about my condition. I'm not in need of her pity. But I do appreciate she hasn't spilled the beans to anyone like some nosy doctors I know.

"I can manage," I answered her boorishly. "So, when are you gonna dismiss me? I still have a lot of works to do."

"I completely understand you Ms. Gonzales but please bare in mind that hindi kayang sabayan ng katawan mo ang isip mo. I will prescribe you painkillers. Ano, Yummie ikaw na bahala kay Gonzales,"

My brows met, magkakilala ba sila? How can she casually call Yummie by her name?

"Your heart is getting weaker and weaker. And all this stress is not helping you. Keep in mind that mahina ang puso mo and—" she didn't continue talking and just let out a sharp sigh.

"Pwede pa naman ang heart transplant Tita 'di ba? May ganun naman "di ba? Pwede pa naman 'di ba? Kailangan lang natin maghanap ng magdodonate tapos gagaling na si May. 'Di ba tita? Aayos naman ang lagay ng best friend ko?" Yummie cried

Does she really think it's that easy to find a heart? She really is a naive girl. The doctor remained silent. I, too know that it is too late for this body of mine. All I could do is just live the time that is left for me.

"I'd like my condition and everything else related to my health to be held in private. Just as we agreed upon. I assume you understand my point, doctor"

The doctor nodded and patted Yummie's head, Lumabas na siya kasama ang nurse ng mahagip ng mata ko ang pamilyar na body structure

"Chase," I unconsciously blurted out.

"Ayiiieee. Hinahanap mo ba si sir Chase? Naku, hanep ang entrance niya kanina. Prince charming na prince charming ang dating" she paused for awhile and saw how her expression changed "Pero promise nakakatakot talaga siya. Kung nakita mo lang ang galit na mukha niya ng makita kang walang malay"

I saw her body slightly shivering as she embraced herself, "What's wrong?"

"Never ever ever EVER make Chase Rodriguez mad. Tuwing naaalala ko yung aura at expression niya kanina ay di ko pa rin maiwasang mangilabot. Masama ata talagang galitin ang isang Chase Rodriguez," bigla niyang itinaas ang braso niya at inilapit sa mukha ko. "Tingnan mo May! Tumataas ang balahibo ko tuwing naaalala ko yun. Ugh"

This girl is really bipolar. A moment ago she was crying and here she is now being hyped up. May inabot siya sa aking papel and I stared at her in confusion and accepted the paper

"Pero 'wag ka May. Ang hot pa rin talaga ni sir Chase kahit nakakakilabot na siya. Para ngang dumagdag pa sa kagwapohan niya," And there she goes starting fangirling and blabbering about Chase.

'Hurry and get well soon, I miss you already. See you soon, babe. I'll be waiting for you- Chase'

I crumpled the paper and threw it at the nearby trash can. See you soon your ass, jerk. He was just outside the room but didn't bother to enter and just gave me this piece of trash? How conceited of him to think that I'll come for him. He'll wait for nothing. Tsk
