“You’re back,” Chase whispered as he stared at the pale-skinned woman standing in front of them.
“Malia, anong ibig sabihin nito?” Elena—no, the real May—took a step closer to the place she had been avoiding for years.
The woman they called Malia looked at the three of them, before staring at the grave in front of them. Engraved was the name of the woman they all longed for... May Gonzales—the real Elena Perez.
“Hindi pwedeng habang buhay kayong manatili sa nakaraan. To move on, kailangan nyong harapin ang nagtatali sa inyo para mamuhay sa hinaharap.”
She went closer. Inilagay niya ang dala niyang bulaklak sa puntod. A moment of silence enveloped them before Luke decided to speak up.
“You said you know how and why this happened—” Luke took a huge gulp before he met Malia’s intense gaze. “Tell us more about it, please.”
Malia only smiled as an answer—a sad smile.
“Mahaba habang kwento ’to. To sum it up, matagal na kayong apat magkakilala. You are all the reincarnation of your sad tragic past lives.” Their brows met at Malia’s confession. “Sana sa siglo na to ay makuha niyo na ang kaligayahan na matagal niyo ng inaasam.” Lumapit si Malia kay Chase na hindi matanggal ang mga titig sa kanya. “Chase, ito lang ang tanging paraan para mailigtas kita, para mailigtas ko kayo. Kailangan niyong magparaya, kailangan nating magparaya.”
Malia quickly reached for Chase’s lips. She slowly caressed his lips, as if trying to memorize every corner.
“Alam ko na ngayon kung bakit ako ang susi sa lahat.” A tear fell from her eyes. “Patawarin mo ako, Chase.”
She faced Elena and held her hands. “You see, I can see the past. And I saw a vision noong nagkabangga tayo noon, isa ka sa mga naging susi para malaman ko ang katotohanan. Nasa sa ’yo ang desisyon and she wants you to set her free.”
