May's POV (Elena)

Annoying jerk. I so hate that guy. Tsk, I wish he could just vanish and go away and stop pestering me.

"Come on May. Tulungan mo na akong magluto. 'Di ba kating-kati ka ng umuwi?" Chase playfully asked

I merely rolled my eyes and sat down. There is no way I will ever cook again. He smirked unexpectedly, tsk. He and his obnoxious ugly sneer. Is it okay if I take off his mouth?

"Don't tell me hindi ka marunong magluto May?" he asked as if provoking me.

Tsk, I hate that smile. I hate that triumphant grin on his face. Rodriguez, I'm not going to acknowledge defeat.

"I'm a good cook. I simply do not wish to cook with a jerk like you," I responded boldly.

Which is a huge lie but I need to act confident baka mabuko niyang I seriously can't cook. I don't want him winning again. I know how he will surely laugh when he'll know the truth. I can't allow him to know my weakness.

"My ideal date is cooking with my date..." he stated before facing me. I arched my brow at him. I don't really care what's his ideal date. I stayed isn't that enough already? "We can't call this a date then. Ginagawa mo lang akong chef eh. Sige ka, hindi na kita iuuwi niyan."

He gave me his foolish pout once more. Tsk, tsk, whatever, I rose up and looked at the chopping board and knife. So, what now? What should I do? I've never cooked before, I am way too busy for the company— wait... It was Elena who was busy, what if the real me... May Gonzales can cook?

I took my time holding the knife intended to chop the onion. I saw this once when Yummie came to see me and lectured me on why I just eat cup noodles and fast food orders. I can't cook, so I'll have to get something to eat. My eyes began to moisten as a result of the dumb onion. My vision became fuzzy all of a sudden.

"Ouch," I whispered to myself.

I looked down at my finger and noticed a small cut and a scarlet fluid that was clearly blood. Tsk, it's entirely his fault. Chase's footsteps came rushing towards me.

He groaned as he grabbed my finger, "I knew it. You don't know how to cook, do you?"

"Of course I can!" I immediately retorted. This is way too embarrassing!

"You're lying," his eyes fixed on mine.

I diverted my gaze at my side. I can't think of any alibis, I felt Chase warm finger brushing my cheeks. I heard him exhale.

"You should have told me May. Hindi naman kita tatawanan eh," he stated in a low voice.

Him? Won't laugh at me? Seriously? I bet he is laughing inside his head right now. Stupid Chase. I remained silent. I don't want to have another pointless argument with him. A flash of foreign memory suddenly pulled me away from reality...

"Stop staring," I can only see darkness, but I know this is Elena's voice. Her extremely familiar yet unfamiliar voice.

"What?!" I heard a man's annoying voice.

It really sounds familiar. Who is he?

"I didn't expect you to be naive and cute," Elena spoke as she open her eyes and looks at the boy.

He just hissed, obviously annoyed. Who is this guy? His face is blurry. Who is he? Why does he remind me of Chase so much? Is it him?

"So... little Miss Perfect, I heard you tried acting like a superhero there. Hindi ka ba natakot na baka magkapasa 'yang magan—" he said in sarcasm but was cut off

"Don't act as if you care," Elena stated, her voice devoid of emotions. But deep down, she just wanted someone to find her... a feeling very familiar to me. "I didn't ask you to visit me, so why are you even here pestering me?"

"Do you think I really wanted to visit you?" he asked.

A moment of silence enveloped the two. The atmosphere was obviously tense and they are both uncomfortable with each other.

"Both of us..." Elena said in a bitter voice. My chest felt like being sat on by an elephant. "We are species of the same group."

He laughed cynically and loudly, and I can sense hostility in his tone. His playful mocking demeanor was found no more.

"Huwag mo akong igaya sa'yo. We are different," he stated emphasizing each word, he seems very upset and bore anger towards Elena. "And what's with acting like a hero? Are you really that desperate for attention Elena Perez? How stupid."

Malakas na sinampal ni Elena ang lalaki as she remained emotionless. The guy just bitterly chuckled.

"I thought you were my friend... how did we end up like this?" Elena asked, pain evident in her voice. The guy just walked out and left Elena as a tear fell in her eyes. "I thought you'd understand me because we... are similar."

The next thing I knew, I'm pulled back to reality again. Napahawak ako sa ulo ko. Another memory. Who's that guy? He's been haunting me, who is he? What does he have to do with Elena? Why am I too affected? Why do I feel hatred for that guy?

"May," napabalik ako sa katinuan when I heard Chase call my name.

"You've been spacing out. What's wrong?" he asked in a concerned tone

I just walked out, glaring at him. I still despise him, just like I despise the guy from Elena's memories. What's the matter with me? I felt Chase's hands wrapped on my wrist as he pulled me back to the kitchen. Pinaupo niya ako at matamis na ngumiti.

"Alright, kahit 'di ka marunong magluto. I will cook for you then. Pagsisilbihan kita, mahal kong prinsesa," Chase smugly said, he really is too full of himself. I could only roll my eyes mentally. "Just watch me. I'll make it so you won't be able to take your eyes away from me."

He winked at me before continuing cooking. Tsk, what an annoying guy. I so hate him. How can he control me like this? Tsk, makakaganti din ako sa'yo Rodriguez. Prepare yourself.
