Telling Kat that Jungkook would be coming to help us was a treat. You would have thought I had told her we had won the lottery.
"For how long?"
I lifted one of the boxes full of yarn and Kat carried the other one.
"Just for the day. He volunteered to stay and help you with things while I run to give Namjoon something."
She halted in front of me nearly causing me to ram into her. I peeked around the box to look at her confused to see she was staring at me with a shit-eating grin.
"Namjoon? Who's Namjoon?"
I shook my head with a smile nudging her with my own box to keep moving. "He's a lawyer. Now go."
Her smile vanished, a pout replacing it as we walked to the front of the store.
"I thought you were about to tell me he was your new "boyfriend"".
I laughed setting my box down to begin unpacking. If only she knew that while I didn't sign the contract with him, he was still an employee of Telepathy. She put her own box down and started restocking the shelves.
"So what are you taking to the lawyer?"
"My license agreement for the shop. He's gonna look if there's a way to transfer complete ownership to me."
"Do you think it'll be that easy?"
I sighed. Probably not. My father was a resourceful man. I had wondered on more than one occasion about how he probably used the ploy of letting me start my own company and co-signing on it to blackmail me later on. With those kinds of intentions, I didn't think he would let that slip through his fingers so easily.
"Probably not, but it's still worth a shot."
Kat put a hand on my shoulder and gave me a sympathetic smile. "You'll get there. Don't worry."
The shop phone ringing cut through the moment. Leaving Kat to finish what was left, I walked around the counter to answer it.
"Crafting Corner, this is Y/N." I chirped.
"Hi Y/N. It's Hoseok."
"Hoseok?" the surprise in my voice caught Kat's attention. She turned around to watch me. "Hi. What can I do for you?"
"Is now a good time? I can always call back if you're busy."
"No, no. I'm good to talk."
Kat had slinked her way over to press her ear close to the phone. I elbowed her in the ribs trying to get her to back off.
"I was wondering if you would have time to meet next week. I have an opportunity I want to discuss with you concerning your shop."
I stopped fighting Kat, now very interested in what Hoseok had to say. "What kind of opportunity."
"An expansion opportunity."
The excitement bubbled out of me before I could stop it, "I'd love to meet with you! What day works best for you?"
"Next Wednesday at 3:15 if that's possible? We can meet at my office. The address is..."
I scribbled down the address Hoseok gave me, double checking it was correct before thanking him.
"My pleasure. I'll see you next week."
Putting the phone back on the counter, I turned to Kat. She waited expectantly, eyes glittering with excitement as she gestured for me to enlighten her.
"That was Hoseok. He's a business broker and wants to meet with me next week about an expansion opportunity with the shop."
We both squealed excitedly hugging each other tightly.
"Y/N! That's great!"
"We'll see what the offer is. He didn't give me specifics over the phone."
"It doesn't hurt to hear him out." She pushed her hair back from her face. "We should celebrate."
"Celebrate?"
"Yeah! Y/N, it's a big deal getting an offer like this!"
"You just want an excuse to go out." I smiled walking over to grab the empty boxes.
"Maybe, maybe not. What I do know, is that we're going. Tonight. There's a great club that I've been dying to go to lately."
Clubbing wasn't exactly my scene, but Kat was right. Other than the evening with Yoongi, I hadn't gone out in a long time. A night on the town might just be what I needed to help alleviate some of the stress I had been under recently.
"Okay." I relented eliciting excited cheers from Kat.
Why I had let Kat talk me into wearing such a short dress in the middle of December, I would never know. The walk to the club was freezing. I might not even have toes anymore. By the time we got in, I was a popsicle, but the full club packed body to body was quickly thawing me as Kat dragged me to the bar for our first round of drinks.
Six shots and two margaritas in, Jackson had showed up. Claiming he couldn't exactly leave Kat alone with the way she drank. He was a wise man. Kat was one of those people who let their inhibitions go completely when she was drunk. I mean, there weren't many inhibitions when she was sober, drunk Kat was a force to be reckoned with. I went back to the bar to grab another round of drinks when a familiar face leaned up against the bar beside me.
"Taehyung?" I asked surprised.
"Fancy meeting you here." He chuckled, shouting to be heard over the music.
"What are you doing here?"
"Just looking to unwind. What about you?"
"Same!"
The bartender handed me the three drinks I ordered, but before I could pay Taehyung told him to put it on his tab.
"You don't have to. I can pay-"
He held up his hand flashing me his boxy smile. "I want to."
Shrugging, I smiled gratefully. "Would you like to join us? I'm kind of third-wheeling at the moment."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, his smile never leaving his face as he ordered a drink of his own.
"We can't have that can we?" he chuckled grabbing the beer the bartender set down in front of him.
I led the way back to our table. As I expected, Kat and Jackson were in full lip lock given my absence. Upon our approach I cleared my throat and set the drinks down on the table a little harder than necessary. Kat and Jackson sprung away from each other.
"Kat, Jackson. This is Taehyung. He's a friend of mine."
I could see the question in Kat's eyes as she looked from Taehyung to me and back. She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively after appreciating Taehyung in all his glory. He was a sight for sore eyes. That was for sure. Dressed in a pair of black jeans, leopard print button up with all the buttons undone and a white tank top underneath, he looked comfortable. Sexy without even trying type of outfit. I sat at the table, Taehyung taking a seat next to me while Kat and Jackson tried to put a reasonable amount of distance between themselves. Kat snagged my attention, covering one side of her face attempting to conceal her words from Taehyung, but was unsuccessful. Especially considering how she had to yell to be heard over the music.
"Boyfriend?"
Giving her an unimpressed look a shook my head. She pouted letting her hand drop to her lap. She was zero for two now.
