The following morning, I made sure I woke up earlier than Jin in the hopes I could have breakfast finished before he was awake. Rolling over to check whether he was still asleep or not, I was graced with the view of him, eyes closed, hair a mess atop his head, lips set in a slight pout, deep breaths moving his chest up and down in a steady rhythm. Forgoing a kiss lest it wake him, I settled on mentally smothering him in kisses as I slipped out of bed. I dug around in the bag I had packed yesterday knowing I would more than likely end up staying at Jin's for a pair of clean underwear.
I donned them, not bothering to dress all the way since I wouldn't be leaving for some time yet and instead grabbed Jin's button up that had been discarded in the living area last night. Sliding it on and buttoning the few middle buttons before padding my way to his kitchen. As to be expected, Jin's cabinets and fridge were well stocked. Making it easy for me to gather ingredients for a quick and easy breakfast. Well aware he preferred his chocolate milk to coffee, I decided to make enough just for me, letting it brew while I started cooking.
Across the room, the sky was just beginning to lighten with the first rays of the sun, bathing the very tops of the buildings in a pale-yellow glow, but not enough for the night lights to switch off quite yet. I turned my back to it, finishing up the last of the food in the skillet and turning off the stove before plating it. I picked up my phone that sat on the edge of the counter, double checking the time to see if I should go get Jin up now or let him sleep a couple more minutes when the arms circling my waist answered that query for me.
"Mmm good morning." He mumbled huskily, nuzzling his nose into my neck before kissing it softly.
His fingers slid under the edge of his shirt, kneading my outer thigh lazily as he sighed happily.
"Good morning." I parroted. "I made breakfast."
"I see that. It smells delicious."
I grinned, grabbing the toast off his plate, holding it up to his mouth. I bit into it, taking it gratefully as I skirted past him to the fridge.
"Chocolate milk?"
"Please." He nodded around a mouthful of bread.
He picked up both of our plates, carrying them to the dining room as I filled a glass of milk for him and snagged my cup of coffee before following him.
"Don't take this the wrong way, but I'd kill to see you barefoot in the kitchen more often." He smirked. "Especially if you'll always wear my shirt while you're there."
"Alright Romeo, eat your breakfast before we're late." I giggled, setting his milk down before taking a seat next to him.~♡~
The next few weeks passed pretty normally. I spent my days at the shop with Kat, occasionally helping her with wedding stuff before returning to the shared apartment and spending my evenings with them. Namjoon was able to clear enough of his schedule around Kat's wedding to accompany us on the trip. Yoongi was yet to be determined. Taehyung had told me Yoongi had already put in so much overtime and pulled some strings to make sure Tae was able to take the time off. Having both of them out of the office at the same time wouldn't go over so well with the other executives, but Tae had reassured me saying that if anyone could get away with it, it would be Yoongi.
I had deferred several more messages as well as a couple of calls from my dad. Kat had been there for a few of them. Casting me sympathetic looks every time. Rather than dwelling on it, I quickly steered the conversation back to her upcoming wedding. The date was fast approaching now. Although it seemed rather soon given they hadn't been engaged all that long, Kat was adamant that it was what they wanted. To her, she and Jackson were already living together and had been together so long that they were practically married, the ceremony was just a formality at this point.
Very like Kat to not want to make a big fuss out of anything. She booked a small church to hold it at. Big enough for her and her future husband, their families, and friends. Simple and quaint as she had it, everything she had shown me was beautiful. Including the dress she had settled on, which she dragged me along to the fitting with her. Which is where I currently found myself. About to walk into a dress shop with her and Taehyung of all people.
"Remind me again, why Tae is tagging along?"
Not that she ever told me in the first place. The two of us walked out of her apartment with Tae already parked out front, wide smile and unfeigned excitement in his eyes.
"If I didn't know that to be a genuine question, I'd be offended." Tae teased, booping my nose before walking into the store, hot on Kat's heels.
I sighed before following them, barely catching Kat's answer as I stepped inside.
"Because I need a man's opinion and Jackson is out of the question. Besides, this boy toy has impeccable taste in fashion. I trust him to be honest about it unlike you, who I know will just agree so you can leave quicker."
"Boy toy?" I muttered under my breath as we were greeted by the way too cheerful attendant.
Taehyung walked around as if he owned the place as Kat told the woman she had made an appointment and showed her the dress she was viewing on their online catalogue. He fished through rack after rack of hanging gowns, his expression unusually void of emotion as he surveyed each one diligently. Yeah, Kat was probably right to think about inviting him. He looked as if he was taking this as seriously as if it were his own wedding. Picking a potential dress for his future wife. Thinking this would take some time, I was about to take a seat on one of the plush couches until Kat intercepted me.
"Here." She said, dragging Tae with her to stand next to me. "Take him and go browse while I'm getting dressed."
"Browse?"
"Yeah. Find a dress fitting as my maid of honor. I'm leaving her to you Tae because I know she won't try too hard."
"That's rude. I'd try just because it's your wedding."
"You're funny." She laughed humorlessly before piercing Tae with another look. "I'm serious. Something that would make you want to take her in public damned whoever's watching because she's that delicious."
"Oh, deal." Taehyung grinned wickedly before jetting off to sort through the daunting mass of dresses on the far side of the shop.
Kat and I watched him as he tore through the store, her in absolute pride and amazement while I stood a little horrified about what I was about to be forced into.
"I don't think you understand just what kind of demon you unleashed." I sighed.
"Hopefully one that will fuck your brains out in one of these dressing rooms."
