This was turning out to be a much longer car ride than I had originally anticipated. Things had finally begun to slow down a bit. After my father had been arrested and charged, Namjoon had put me in contact with a lawyer friend of his. After much deliberation, he had pretty much told us that the court process could end up taking a lot longer than we would like. Unless we made a plea deal to my dad's attorney in exchange for a lesser sentence. Not interested in having to give him another second of my life, let alone months or years, I accepted.

And so did my father. He plead guilty on charges of malicious property damage and third-degree arson. Sentenced to 15 years in prison and a fine of almost twenty grand. Even with that, my mother was furious. The last time I spoke with her had been when she came to plead on his behalf for me to drop the charges because "he was my father at the end of the day". And when I refused, she cut me off completely. Between that money and the insurance payout, I had some finances to start anew. The boys and I agreed that it might be in our best interest to move the shop somewhere away from the previous one. In hopes that being further away would separate us from what happened even more, and the idea of a completely fresh start was desirable.

Kat and I spent a lot of time discussing it. Continuing to work out of the shared apartment filling online orders to rake in a little extra cash in the meantime. With everything we made there becoming profit, we hoped to be able to save enough to find something decent soon. It helped that I practically had zero personal expenses anymore. The boys had finally convinced me to sell my old apartment. And not seeing the point of me having it anyway since I spent all my time here, I did. A majority of the money I earned went into savings. Only a small part of it went towards spending money. On the rare occasions I could actually use it. The boys seemed more than happy to buy me anything I needed at any point in time whether I wanted them to or not. Even if I didn't say anything, somehow they always found out and I had a sneaking suspicion it had something to do with my supposed best friend.

The last few months had been better. I was completely healed from my injuries, so was Kook. Jin had been offered a permanent position at Jimin's hospital and although I didn't know what changed for him to accept it, it was nice having him home more often. Jungkook had kind of taken up a third job helping Kat and I any time he didn't have to be at either office. If you could even call it a job. He refused to be paid for what he does, settling for beer from Kat and cuddling sessions from me. I've tried to convince him that it's nowhere near fair compensation, but he refuses to hear it. Hoseok has been helping me look for a new place to open the store. Already jumping on several locations he'd been looking into for work, one of which was where we were currently headed now.

It was a lot further from the original location and, by proxy, the shared apartment. Something I was already not a fan of. But before we had left Namjoon reminded me that relocating was part of the deal. If we wanted to get away from what had happened, we'd have to put a little distance between us and it. A little distance was something I could cope with. But Hoseok was driving nearly halfway across the city.
