Dinner wasn't really anything unusual besides the fact that everyone was present. Jin had cooked, coming to let everyone know it was ready shortly after Jungkook had finished the shelf. It was one of those rare evenings where no one had somewhere else to be, so the dining table had every chair filled for the first time since I had been here. I sat in between Jin and Namjoon with Jimin having the seat across from me. The meal was light, but delicious. Jin was an amazing cook just like Yoongi, the only difference being that I was pretty sure Jin found more enjoyment being in the kitchen.

My assumptions were proved correct when I had found Yoongi sprawled out on a couch in the living area instead of in the kitchen helping when we all gathered for dinner. Now, the food had been eaten and everyone hung around to chat since it was a rare opportunity for all of us to be together. Having everyone around the table like this though, I could get used to it. Seeing Tae and Jimin and Jungkook joke with one another, Hoseok listening in quietly with a smile on his face, Namjoon deep in conversation with Yoongi, and Jin making sure everyone had plenty to eat.

Time like this was something I regrettably never had growing up. My family didn't sit around the dinner table like this, never engaged with one another like they did. I had spent so much time by myself, I had become accustomed to being alone. It wasn't until I had Kat that I began to understand what it was like to have someone to talk to about my issues and share my burdens with. But I was still missing that interaction with someone in a more intimate capacity. I didn't have someone to come home to, or ask me how my day went, or cook me a meal and want to crawl into bed together at the end of the day.

I didn't know how lonely I was until I experienced all those things with them. It was a change, but a good one. One I never wanted to let go of. It was getting late, but no one was quite ready for bed. I knew I should be heading that way, especially since I needed to be up earlier than usual. Tae and I both, I thought looking at the one who begged for me to stay in the first place. He was still lost in conversation with Jimin, the two of them back to arguing about the unfinished shelf in the other room. Jungkook shook his head at the two of them before meeting my eyes across the table.

He subtly jerked his chin in the direction of the exit. An unvocalized gesture asking if I wanted to get out of here. I nodded, turning to Jin to thank him for dinner and bidding everyone good nights as I told them I would be getting ready for bed.

"I'll be right behind you. It's my turn to do dishes." Taehyung said, ending his spat with Jimin long enough to wish me a good night.

"I'll be in the bedroom."

With a round of kisses for everyone, I left the room after Jungkook, who had snuck away while I was wishing everyone a good evening. I found him outside of Tae's door, hands in the pockets of his joggers, gaze trained on the floor.

"You okay?" I asked as I approached him.

He looked up at me, his doe eyes reflecting the lights of the hallway, making them look as if they were sparkling. One corner of his mouth lifted in a half smile that didn't reach those eyes.
