The ride to the ballroom was smooth and quiet, the only sound coming from the soft music playing in the background. As we arrived, I was struck by the number of cars parked outside. There were dozens of them, all expensive and luxurious. I couldn't believe how many people were here, all dressed beautifully in their finest attire.
As we stepped out of the car, I was greeted by the sight of a grand ballroom. "I didn't think it would be this extra." I pointed out. "Whoever did this wants to make an impression."
Asher hummed, "And he succeeded at making one." He held out his arm for me to take. Once i wrapped my hand around it, he whispered, "Stay close to me. This could all be a ruse for all we know or we aren't the only people he has an enmity with."
"You think all those people are here against their will?" I questioned earning a shrug from him. "Could be," He smirked, "Or he's just a fan of yours truly."
I rolled my eyes at this statement of his. "Or you pissed him off." I said before correcting myself, "We pissed him off."
"We should consider every single one of our thoughts a possibility." He sighed, taking a deep breath before walking us inside. We stopped in front of the door where a man dressed in a black suit stood with a tablet in his hand. He looked at me and Asher before asking us for our names. "Asher and Katherine." Asher answered bitterly to his question, his jaws clenched. Understandable behavior, this whole thing was ridiculous to say the least. What is even happening? I don't know.
"Ah." The man in front of the door spoke, a smirking slowly making its way onto his face. "Well lads, He has been expecting you." He smiled, his crooked and yellow teeth in display, "You just have to play by the rules, pretend like you're in actual ball- which you are, and you might just receive what you came here for."
"Fuck you." Asher spat, walking pass him with me still hanging with him. "Fucking asshole."
"Calm down." I whispered, "We have eyes on us." I gestured to the men who i assumed was guards, all placed around the ballroom. We were surrounded, we knew that, it was expected. We walked into the lion's den, after all. Knowingly.
"The guys are just outside, hidden somewhere." He cleared his throat, "We'll be safe."
When we entered the ballroom, I was immediately struck by its opulence. The chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, casting a warm glow across the room. The marble floors gleamed beneath our feet and the walls were adorned with intricate golden patterns. Everyone was dressed in their finest attire and the sound of the orchestra filled the air.
"Let's dance." He stated, taking my hand and dragged me on the dance floor. I felt a spark of electricity run through my body. His touch was warm, yet gentle, and we moved across the floor with graceful steps. As we spun around, I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked in his crisp tuxedo. His dark hair was perfectly styled and his blue eyes shone in the dim light of the ballroom.
The soft melody of the slow song enveloped the ballroom as Asher and I moved closer together to dance. I could feel the warmth of his body against mine as we embraced, our bodies moving in perfect synchronicity.
As we swayed to the rhythm, I looked up at Asher and was lost in his eyes. The colors in his irises seemed to blend together, creating a hue of blue that was mesmerizing and beautiful. I knew that this was a moment that I would want to remember for the rest of my life.
The sweet scent of Asher's cologne mixed with the perfume of the flowers in the ballroom, creating an intoxicating aroma that heightened my senses. I could feel my heart beating faster as our slow dance continued, his hands exploring my back softly.
At this moment, nothing else mattered. All our fears and worries seemed to fade away, and we were simply two people lost in the beauty of the moment. The world around us seemed to disappear, leaving only Asher and I as we danced in each other's arms. It was a moment that was so romantic, one that I knew I would cherish for all the years to come.
Despite the danger of the situation, being in Asher's arms made me feel safe and protected. It was as if nothing else mattered except for the moment we were sharing together.
Yet i still couldn't shake the feeling of danger that hung in the air. I knew that me and Asher were here for a reason - to save our parents from the person who had kidnapped them. But as we danced, i felt a sense of safety and security that i haven't felt since before my- our, parents were taken.
Suddenly, Four men appeared at our side, their faces stoic and unyielding. "Asher and Katherine?" One of them spoke, earning nothing but a glare, They motioned for us to follow them, and i knew that this was it - the moment we had been waiting for. We were led down a long hallway and into a small room, where a man sat waiting for us.
He was tall and imposing, with sharp features and piercing eyes. I could feel the weight of his gaze on me as he spoke, his voice low and menacing. But despite his intimidating presence, i felt a sense of resolve wash over me. If this had to end with his death, it will.
We had come here to get our parents and nothing was going to stop us. If i have to kill every single person in this room, i would and i knew Asher would too. We both loved and felt the need to protect and save from our parents from whoever this was.

Asher's POVI took Katherine's hand and led her to the center of the ballroom, where we began to dance. She looked stunning in her black gown, the fabric flowing around her as she moved. Her hair was swept up in an elegant bun, and her eyes sparkled under the soft glow of the chandelier. I couldn't help but feel a little breathless at the sight of her.
She looked fucking beautiful. Amazing. Gorgeous. Perfect.
As we danced, I felt her body pressed against mine, her curves fitting perfectly against my own. I held her close, feeling the warmth of her skin through the fabric of her dress. I felt a sense of protectiveness wash over me, a need to keep her safe in this moment.
We moved in perfect harmony, our steps in sync with the music. I couldn't help but feel like we were the only two people in the room, lost in our own little world. Even though we weren't. We were in the enemy's house, danger on our heads yet, i felt otherwise with her in my arms. Katherine's eyes met mine, and I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through me. I knew in that moment that I never wanted to let her go. I didn't want to.
Together, we looked like a picture-perfect couple, our movements graceful and effortless. I knew that this moment would stay with me forever, a memory that I would cherish for years to come.
