After tying Jason on the chair, Asher and i sat sat on the table facing him. Twirling my knife around my fingers, i asked, "Where are our parents?"

Jason chuckled, shaking his head. "You don't understand, do you? I told you," he sighed, "There are games to play." Turning to look at Asher, he continued, "Kill Alonzo and you will have your parents back. Why are you wasting your time with Katherine?"

Asher looked at me, as if he didn't know how to answer his question. "I am not going to start a war with the Italians because of your stupid games."

"These games are far from stupid." He laughed, "If you don't play along, your parents will die."

Groaning, Asher punched Jason earning a pained smirk in return. Bastard didn't feel much. I was expecting this.

"Torturing him will be a waste of time." I stated, knowing how hard we were trained. "He will have to talk by himself."

"Wise, Katherine." A sadistic smile appeared on his face. "You have always been my favorite."

"Shut up." I hissed. "What do you even want again? To be 'King'?"

"Yes." He rolled his eyes, "The only king."

"Boss-" The door opened abruptly, revealing four other unknown men. "What the-"

"Grab them." Jason hissed, rolling his eyes at their lack of action. On his order, the four men launched at us. "Don't hurt them. I need them alive."

"That's enough." A woman's voice boomed from behind us as i held a knife in front of a man's throat while Asher had his hand wrapped around one's throat. The two other men were struggling to remove their gun from wherever they put it. I would have laughed at them if the situation wasn't so intense.

Turning around, Recognition flashed in Asher's eyes upon seeing the woman. "Cherry."

"Asher, darling." She smiled, showing her perfectly straight and white teeth. "It's been so long." The blonde woman dressed in a pale pink gown started walking towards us. "Let him go, Asher."

"Don't order me around." Asher said through gritted teeth. "Remember where you stand."

"Ah." She flicked her hair, "But things have changed, hasn't it?" She looked over at Jason, "Jason there and i have taken your parents hostages. We are the ones pulling the strings here."

"Are you?", Asher questioned, "Let's make a deal, Cherry." He continued, knowing how easily Cherry can be manipulated. Anyone could tell this woman was easily manipulated. All she wanted was money, power- as did Jason. But the difference was, Jason was smart and this woman didn't even look smart. "You send your son to me, we will have a hand to hand combat and if i win, you  will get whatever you want and i know for a fact that the only thing you want is power, my power." There. He manipulated her with his wealth. Judging by the tone he used, he was sure he would win.

"Im not stupid." Cherry scoffed at his suggestion. "You're stronger than Garrett in every way." Her eyes darted over to me, "Is this your girlfriend?"

"Yes." Asher replied instantly as if reading Cherry's mind, knowing exactly what she is thinking about. "That's my girlfriend. Why?"

"This the 'princess', Jason?" She looked over at Jason who nodded at her question. An evil smile appeared on her face, "Then, here's what is going to happen. You want a combat over power, to win? Alright then." She pointed to me, "You will fight Garret and Asher will fight Jason. If Garrett wins, Everything Asher own will become mine and if Jason win, he shall become 'King'."

Asher looked at me, unsure of this but i gave him a curt nod, reassuring him that it's alright. I have no doubt Asher will win against Jason. He has proven to be extremely good, he beat me during combat. But i was afraid of was Jason playing dirty or challenge him to a sword combat. Something we have learnt back home, something he is extremely good at.

"If we win, you give us back our parents and you embrace death." I glared at Jason during the last part of my statement.

"Embrace death?", Cherry repeated my question. "I am not embracing death."

"You will." Asher spoke, glaring at her. "I will kill you myself."

Fear flashed through her eyes at Asher's statement. She knew he was not messing with her. He meant every word. As did i. I shall kill Jason myself if he loses. We don't keep traitors, no matter how long we have known each other or whatever the bond we have with each other. Everyone will watch as he is slaughtered.

"Invite our people to see the combat." My statement was directed to Jason who nodded, smirking. Bastard was sure he would win said combat. He didn't know Asher's full potential as i did. The only reason i told him to invite everyone was for them to see what will happen to traitors. Just because my parents went soft didn't mean we stopped punishing traitors.

"I need your word that our parents will be safe, fed properly and taken care of until the combat." Asher said earning a curt nod from Cherry. "You have my word." She looked at me, "Release Jason and we shall meet at a location where the combat will take place. I will text Asher the location details."

Despite every cell of my body telling me not to release Jason, i knew i had no choice. I wanted this to end, we all did. If playing by the enemy's rules was the only way to end this then so be it. After i released Jason, he rushed to Cherry's side. "Your parents shall be taken care of properly, fed and everything. We will meet in two days for the combat. I will bring you an audience. Until then," He smirked, "Have fun being a princess, Princess."

Not bothering to give them a reply, both Jason and Cherry along with their guards turned their back and left the room, leaving me and Asher alone.

"Your girlfriend?" I smiled, shaking my head. He shrugged, fighting off a smile himself, "The only reason she wants you to fight Garrett is because she wants to hurt me through you." He started, "She thinks his son will beat you easily because you are a girl. Cherry has always been the type of woman who doesn't believe women can rule the world one day. If she had any ounce of respect for her gender, she could have taken over the Russian mafia all by herself but since she doesn't, she is urging her son to do so."

"She isn't very much of a feminist then." I stated earning a nod from him, "Well, she is in for a surprise." I sighed before continuing, "Have you ever had a sword combat?"

He raised a questioning eyebrow at me, "A sword combat? Like the ones in movies?"

I nodded at this, earning a sigh in return, "This is the type of combat Jason will want to have, isn't it?"

"Probably. Most likely, yes."

A smirk took over his features, "Very well then, i guess luck's on my side considering i have you to teach me." He winked, "Plus, im a quick learner."

I smiled at him, a smile that im sure didn't quite reach my eyes. "Aren't you afraid i am going to lose this fight and you will lose your mafia in the process?"

He shook his head, taking my hand in his. "No. I trust you." Placing a kiss on my forehead, he asked, "Do you trust me?"

"Yes."

He looked at me, my hands still in his, "Then we will win this. We won't lose. We will defeat them."
