The Captain's expression was hard to read. His arms were crossed over his chest and he was looking at me waiting for an answer. The only problem was that I wasn't sure I had the correct one. I had strayed from the plan. I wasn't supposed to say anything when they were on the phone, but the comment about Fox and Puppy had caught me off guard.
He shifted forward in his seat, "Do I need to repeat the question?" His voice had turned icy. He wasn't looking for the run around this time.
"Which part?" I mumbled.
He pulled out a small notebook from a pocket, then a pen. "Why did you volunteer?"
I gulped, "I thought that I was the best for the job."
He took a few notes then looked back up at me, "And why did you think that?"
"I don't have anything to lose."
His hand hovered over the pad of paper but his eyes never left my face. "How badly do you want me to believe that?"
"Wh...What do you mean?"
He set the pen down, "Clearly there is another reason as to why you did this. No one just up and volunteers to go to jail for upwards of 5 years."
I looked down at my hands, "Lee Know said the time to move was now. I volunteered because I have nothing to lose. There's nothing else to tell."
"And this Lee Know didn't coerce you in any way?"
I shook my head, "No."
"He didn't blackmail you?"
"No."
"He didn't threaten you in any way."
"No."
"You didn't owe him anything?"
" I said no, why do you keep pressing his involvement?" My eyes turned back to watch him.
"I'm just making sure, seeing how you are his girl and all." His eyebrow raised as he said it.
"Not like that. Just a part of the whole. Meaning not yours."
"It was still an odd thing to say. And the phrase he used, very specific. Makes me wonder what's really going on there."
"Nothing. We aren't involved in any way other than knowing each other. Ask your next question."
"Aren't you the one who said you would answer the questions of the person who was in charge of your case?"
"I did," I scooted up to the table closer, "But that doesn't mean you get to be an ass."
"Fine, we'll move on then." He picked the pen back up, "How did you get the bug? It seemed to be hidden in some way."
"It was hidden in a hair clip that I was given as a gift."
"Who gave you the gift?"
I hesitated and watched his pen scribble across the paper. "Lee Know did."
"And where did he get it?"
I shrugged, "Someone else. I don't know who exactly."
"Why did he want to meet in Myubi Park?"
I bit the inside of my cheek. "It's open, there should be a decent amount of people in the morning, he can slip away easily."
I watched as his pen stopped on the page and he looked up at me, "So he has no plans of being caught?"
"No, he knows the laws around Cyber Crimes pretty well. He knows a lot about what will and what won't go on to be prosecuted."
"And how does he know all that?"
