Booking and processing took a total of three hours and by the time I was finished, I was ready to pass out. The adrenaline pushing me forward earlier in the night had completely faded and I was left in a foggy haze. I laid my cheek down on the metal table in front of me and closed my eyes.
"Yoh, you can't sleep in there." The voice came through a speaker to my right. I picked my head up enough to have my chin sit on the table now. I looked at the window across from me and stuck my tongue out. Then I turned my head and placed it back on the table.
The intercom came on again and I shifted to see back through the glass. I could just make out the sound of someone... laughing? "Yoh, sit up straight. Officer Han will be in in a moment."
I blinked slowly. "Uggggghhhhh, fine." I sat up slowly, and stretched with my arms out towards the table.
The door opened and Officer Han shut it behind himself. He sat down across from me with a thin manila folder. He opened the top, contemplated for a few moments then pretended to read it, making faces to himself. He then closed it and looked at me.
I raised an eyebrow, "Was it that interesting?"
He looked a bit taken aback and blushed slightly, then cleared his throat. "I will be conducting the interview and I would like for you to answer my questions please." He straightened his collar before continuing. "What exactly does your bug do?"
I just stared at him, was he serious? "You haven't figured that out yet?"
He blinked a couple of times, "We have not."
"You're in Cyber Crimes and you have no idea what the bug did?"
He gulped, "Not currently."
I sat up straighter in my chair, "You're not the lead on this case, right? That Captain guy is. Ask him what the bug does."
Officer Han flinched to turn around but thought better of it. "I'm the one asking the questions. You can tell me what it does."
I just stared at him incredulously. "Yeah not going to happen."
He glared at me slightly, "Fine, how about you tell me why you did it?"
I shook my head, "Lead officer of the case only."
"The Captain is a very busy man. He has other cases to be involved with and doesn't have time for every little thing."
"I brought down the entirety of the internet, and the Captain of the Cyber Crimes Division doesn't have time for my case?"
His eyes grew wide, "You brought down the whole internet?"
The door swung open and the both of us turned to look at who was intruding on the questioning. The Captain stood in the doorway. "Han, she didn't bring down the whole internet." He closed the door behind himself and came over to stand behind Officer Han.
I addressed my next question to him, completely ignoring Officer Han now. "Do you know that for a fact, or are you just phishing?"
He shrugged, "A little bit of both." From his pants pocket he pulled out a small bag and threw it onto the table. I leaned in to get a better look. It was the broken hair clip and chip that I had placed in my pocket before leaving Felix and Hyunjin's apartment. The same ones that had been found in my pockets during processing.
"Tell me about it." He folded his arms across his chest.
I shook my head again and pointed to Officer Han, "Not until he is out of the room."
My eyes never looked away from him and I held his gaze. He smirked a bit, then placed a hand on Officer Han's shoulder. "You do realize there are about 3 other people just next door listening."
