The second story took place in the same year; when the crown prince was seventeen. There was once a bridge named Yinian, it was south of the Yellow river. There was a ghost who had resided there for many years.

This ghost was terrifying. It was clad in broken armor, impaled by arrows and a number of sharp objects, with flames raging from beneath its feet. Each step left behind a path of blood and fire. Each couple of years it would suddenly appear, stopping travelers to ask them three questions,

"Where is this place?"
"Who am I?"
"What can be done?"
The ghost would devour the travelers who answered incorrectly, and since no one knew the answers, the victims of this ghost accumulated greatly over the years.

"How is that fair? No one knows the answers, how would they be able to answer it correctly?" Lang Qiangqiu's brow furrowed in frustration.
"Why would they be fair? It's a ghost,"
Shi Qingxuan replied as if reprimanding a child.

The crown prince heard of this while he was traveling and went to that very bridge. He waited night after night before that ghost finally appeared before him.

The ghost was just as terrifying as the rumors portrayed. It asked the crown prince, "Where is this place?"
The crown prince smiled,
"This is the mortal realm." But the ghost replied,
"This is the abyss."

The crown prince already answered the first question wrong, and he thought, I'm going to get all of them wrong anyway, why should I wait for you to finish? So he brandished his sword and fought that fearsome ghost.

It was said that the battle shook the Heaven and Earth. The crown prince had extraordinary talent in martial arts, but the ghost was also very ferocious.

"Woah... Your Highness! You're so amazing!" Shi Qingxuan's eyes were glimmering, reflecting the glints of the swords that were going back and forth like a dance.
Pei Ming sneered,
"Not bad for a trash god." Even Shi Wudu and Ling Wen looked impressed. But, someone who hadn't been afraid before to say what he was thinking was suddenly silent.

————————————————————————
There will be a short break.

"Fang Xin?" Lang Qiangqiu's face turned dark. Xie Lian's eyes narrowed. Lang Qiangqiu looked at him,
"It is you, isn't it? Did you think I wouldn't be able to tell? You taught me those very sword techniques yourself after all," he spitefully spat.

"What the hell are you talking about? Your Highness, what's going on?" Feng Xin spoke up, Mu Qing had a strange smile on his face,
"Your Highness please explain this."

San Lang stood up,
"His Highness has no obligation to tell you anything." Xie Lian had a calm and distant expression, he walked in front of San Lang and said,
"I'll explain everything."
Lang Qiangqiu was enraged,
"Tell them what? How you murdered my father?! How you should've been dead?!"

There was a burst of white light that surrounded Lang Qiangqiu, and a paper appeared in his lap. He had returned to his composed expression from earlier but he looked confused,
"What happened?"

Everyone was silent for a moment.

Xie Lian started to walk over with San Lang trailing behind him,
"May I see that?"
"Oh, umm.. sure."

Xie Lian scanned the contents of the paper and read it aloud for the people in a close proximity to hear,
"The incident will be explained eventually, but not now. Lang Qiangqiu's memories of the battle on Yinian bridge have been temporarily removed."

There was one last thing that His Highness didn't read aloud, it read,
"Your Highness, be rest assured that everything will come to light, you will not be blamed for what you didn't do."

"I should probably refrain from saying anything until then," Xie Lian returned to his seat with San Lang beside him,
"Gege, the truth about this will be revealed, don't worry." But Xie Lian didn't reply.
