"Good morning, Alabama! I'm Joy Hofer and this is Manny Jenkins and we've got some special guests for you today. Out of Birmingham, we have members of Infinity Brand Ltd. Infinity Brand is a joint defensive contractor and summoning business that specializes in celestial and elemental summoning. Andre Miller and Caleb Murry." She indicated the two and the studio audience gave applause. "Mr. Miller you and your partners have been staples in the Birmingham defensive business for around 5 years now, we did some research and have found very few complaints about your work, and the few we did find were handled very quickly and professionally. Can you tell us a little bit about your business?"
"Well Joy, we've been professional summoners for just over 40 years each, and our partners each bring 20-plus years of experience in the defensive magic fields." Said Andre.
"Now when you say summoning, what kind of spirits do you deal with, from the research that our staff has done it seems there are four major types." Asked Manny.
"Yes, there are human spirits, which are the souls of the dead, they are very hard to summon and something we try to avoid doing to leave their afterlives undisturbed. There are celestials, beings that a lot of people refer to as angels, and other beings of light, I deal with these most often. There are elementals, representing the basic building blocks of the universe, and Caleb has specialized in working with those. Then there are infernal spirits, most commonly known as demons. We refuse to summon them at all for several different reasons." Answered Andre.
"OK, would you mind telling us a bit about each type and how you handle the summoning in general? You've said before the show that there were two different styles of summoning, the bind and charge, and the request and tribute." Replied Joy.
"Sure. Well, summoning human spirits, as I said, is difficult, when trying to summon them you have to provide a compelling reason for them to return to the mortal realm, and as you can imagine that is very difficult. Plus depending on where they have wound up in the afterlife also determines if summoning is even possible."
"Where they wind up in the afterlife? You mean between heaven and hell." Said Manny.
"There are actually many different heavens and hells, and then there is purgatory, but that's a bit more complicated. But yes, if a spirit has found its way into purgatory, or the hells by their life choices or some other way they cannot be summoned as they are bound to those places. Celestials are fairly easy to summon if you deal with the Celestial Union, a representative group for many of the celestials that allow themselves to be willingly summoned to the mortal plane. We make offerings of tribute, things like incense, holy mana, and items of holy significance."
"I hate to keep interrupting, but that brings up the two different ways of summoning that you've mentioned. Rather than binding the spirits in what people would see as the traditional method, you actually work with the spirits?" asked Joy.
"Yes, we've found that by actually talking with the spirits, and offering them tribute, you can think of it like paying them for their services, that they work better and are easier to summon again and you don't need to add as many layers of protection because you are on good terms with the spirits you summon. If you do it with the bind and charge method, where you actively force the spirit to do what you want against their will, it breeds a lot of bad will as you can imagine, and summoners who use this method need a large series of protections to protect from vengeful spirits."
"I see, you were talking about the spirits before I interrupted you. Please continue." Said Joy.
"Dealing with the Elemental Courts is very similar to dealing with the Celestial Union, they are a group of powerful beings, elemental lords, who see to the organization and distribution of the elementals throughout the universe." Said, Caleb.
