It had been 9 days since Andre, Caleb, and Conroy had been injected with the cure to burn out. Since then, Kris had anonymously submitted the samples and work to the International Center for Magical Medicine. The ICMM was the premiere group working for the betterment of those who were magically active. 5 days after submitting to the ICMM Kris leaked the formula to every reputable news service in the world, the AP, Reuters, and BBC to name a few. The family wanted to ensure that no one could charge or limit who could receive the cure. It would change the world for summoners and that deserved to be in everyone's hands, even the infernals sadly.

Conroy had summoned his first full power elemental in almost 40 years, Caleb stopped feeling the effects of his burnout and Andre would never have to worry about feeling them at all. Caleb and Andre would now live to their natural life expectancy provided they took care of themselves. There were tears aplenty from most of the family.

Celeste didn't understand why everyone was crying so started to cry because she thought everyone was sad. It took a while to explain to her that they were happy tears. That sometimes people got so excited and happy that they cried with joy.

An unexpected side effect was that Conroy was also able to start doing the limited spell magic he knew, giving the family one more shield and shove should it come to hostilities.

In the evening Andre received a call from Houseton, Rebe, and Kline, "Hello Rhinehart."

"Hello, Andre. It seems you got past us at the bank. A shame really, we still get the cure though so it's not a total loss. I assume Linda is dead?" asked Rhinehart.

"She won't be a threat to anyone ever again. I could arrange a meeting if you like."

"I'll take a pass for now. You do realize that your entire family is now forfeit?"

"I would recommend taking that off the table."

"And why would I do that?"

"Because if you don't, I'll have to get proactive, and you should remember what happened last time that happened. How's the phantom itch by the way?" Andre asked

"It's only a problem when someone mentions it. The last time you went proactive you had an army. Your forces are greatly reduced." He spoke.

"And do you think that makes me less, or more dangerous? Frankie is dying to see you again."

"We could just strike now, you're virtually undefended, don't overestimate your defenses."

"Please, but by all means come. I'll open a portal and have hundreds of celestials and elementals pouring out into the area in minutes. 7 of us stood again over 500 Tchecha thralls for over an hour before we received reinforcements. What's it going to look like when there are 7 of us and 1000 celestials and elementals? Face it your hollow threats are just that, hollow. You can't back them up."

"You keep pushing the boundaries and you'll find out how dangerous we can really be."

"And vice versa. We're at a standoff because I chose it to be one. I don't like excessive death, but let me make this perfectly clear. If you make one hostile or provocative move, I'll arrange a meeting with Frankie and you will not like the results. As I told your predecessor your fall will be sudden, precipitous, and measurable on the Richter Scale."

"Now who's making threats?"

"It's not a threat. It's a fact, and you know it. You don't have the numbers, the power, or honestly the balls to make a move. So, drop the green light, if you don't, I'll turn it on too and we'll see how things shake out."

Rhinehart hung up.

Andre heaved a sigh and then explained to the others what was said. "We may have to prove a point if he pushes it, does anyone have a problem with that?"
